Dear nicolamardell1975 ([email protected]),

Thank you for listing the following items on eBay. We have removed these listings and will credit all fees to your account because it has come to our attention that the items were bought without the account owner's authorisation. We are now restoring the account to its owner.

170317114246 - Samsung F480 Tocco Mobile Phone on Orange 3m old boxed

Please be assured that there is no negative mark on your account because of this. We only removed your listing so that we could credit all of your Insertion and Final Value Fees and prevent any further problems arising such as Unpaid Item disputes or negative feedback.

Unfortunately, we're not able to automatically relist the above item for you. To relist the item, you'll need to use either the Sell Your Item process on eBay, or another listing service.

Note: We will credit all fees for these listings to your account, however it may take up to ten days for all the Insertion and Final Value Fee credits to be shown on your account status page.

Thank you for your understanding in this difficult matter. If you have any questions or require assistance, you can contact us from any eBay Help page.

Regards,

eBay Trust & Safety

Has the listing actually been removed, because that email sounds like a spam to me.

nicolamumof3 · 06/04/2009 15:38

yes listing has gone, it was on my ebay messages not just an email. totally weird the listing ended earlier the item sold hadn't got around to invoicing as the buyer was from US and i had to find out postage.

does to me too.forward to ebay and ask whats going on.

Was the auction ended? It is probably genuine if only because it doesn't provide a link to follow but says to navigate yourself to ebay help pages. Most spam email have fake links to follow where they try to obtain your log in information etc.

Had the auction ended, or at least been bid on? Sounds like someone else had their ebay account hacked and the bid therefore wasn't genuine. Just a guess though I'm sorry.

Crossed with your last post, then the winner has presumably reported their account has been used fraudulently so the item is not sold.

I've been ebaying years and had various listings removed, but never seen an explanation like that before. Are you able to use the helpline? It used to only be for certain customers, not sure if everyone can use it now?

" We have removed these listings and will credit all fees to your account because it has come to our attention that the items were bought without the account owner's authorisation."

I think some one has hacked the buyers account and bought your item.

nicolamumof3 · 06/04/2009 15:44

i think it seems that the buyers account has been hacked, but why remove the listing? the item sold for £126 and i could have second chanced it to the next bidder for £124. i think its really unfair that they've removed the listing. could really do with that money atm without going through another listing. ggggrrr!!!

I don't understand why they would remove the listing either. If the buyers account was hacked then remove their bids only. Sometime spoof emails are send from other ebay member through ebay's messaging service.
It all seems rather fishy to me, the language etc.

nicolamumof3 · 08/04/2009 07:46

its definitely from ebay, been corresponding with them about it. i think its bad as we've had to relist now, and may not achieve what we did at the first auction. we could have offered to the second chance bidder.
