Hi

Can someone help me please - Im fairly new to the selling on Ebay and wish I hadnt bothered as its been nothing but trouble!

I get a bid on a car seat cover that I was listing and then a message from the bidder saying that it was the wrong thing and to ignore her bid if she won. Well she did and now she messaged again saying she doesnt want it.

Am I in the right to send payment details to her anyway or is there a way to open a dispute this early so I dont have to incur costs?

I am so mad as it says on the listing what it is and she's the one made the mistake and I could now be the one out of pocket.

As its a contract she should pay shouldnt she??

Hope someone can help thanks x

i think you need to contact ebay - the item is hers, and she needs to pay for it

she can then resell if of course

tell her you will do a mutual withdraw from sale - she will have to fill in her part once you have done it. This way you will get your fees back. You can then relist it.

sixlostmonkeys · 23/02/2009 14:57

please don't start asking her to pay for it, or to pay your fees etc - this might (will) upset her and she may not fill in her part of the withdraw from sale and so will take longer for you to get your fees back

littlelozz · 23/02/2009 15:20

thanks I didnt know you could do a mutual withdrawl how do I do that? would prefer that any way than going down the payment route and then upsetting her

it's one of the options in dispute

pages.ebay.co.uk/help/buy/questions/unwanted-item.html

always best to tell them you are doing this in case they get a shock at seeing an issue has been raised

CherryChoc · 23/02/2009 15:32

I think you can also make a second chance offer to the second highest bidder, which saves you relisting again.

littlelozz · 23/02/2009 16:35

Thanks for the advise guys - I managed to get the mutual withdrawl so its all over now without having to pay any fees. Unfortunetly I still have the bloody thing as she was the only bidder! Im cancelling my ebay lol
