The item was listed as a buy it now/best offer, a best offer was put in which i accepted. The buyer has emailed and said she has made a mistake and no longer wants the item. I did list it in the wrong place, however in the title and in two places in the text the description was correct. There was also a diagram which showed correct information. The buyer assumed it was something else because of where i listed it.

Make sense ?

I have incurred ebay fees of £13 in the listing and the final value fee and i dont think I should have to pay them twice because of her mistake.

Am i being unreasonable?
Can I ask her to make the fees before I cancel the transaction and relist?

When you place a bid you are entering a contract to buy the item for that price if yours is the winning bid. So I'd say YANBU.

But if you listed it incorrectly then it's partically your fault, although they should have read the description. Did this person just swoop in and buy it in a panic at the last minute, or had they been looking for ages?

Maybe you could offer to split the cost, since it was a joint mistake?

If she gets arsey about things (and if you are planning on selling regularly and don want the negative feedback) then you might have to deal with £13 being the price to pay for your mistake.

It wasn't a split second decision, she had emailed me earlier with a couple of questions about the item and whereabouts we lived for collection.

simply do a mutual withdraw from the transaction and you will get your fees back that way.
You can't ask 'buyers' to pay your fees. - even if you don't make mistakes in the listing.
