get her to ask around neighbors etc as to be honest if it says its been delivered then not much you can do about it as if paypal dispute they will check and see its also been delivered and would go in your favor anyway

best you can do is get her to check around neighbors etc you have done it all correct sent recorded items been signed for and collected its not your fault from there

bubblagirl · 19/01/2009 20:51

if you can work out name on signature then maybe she will see its a neighbors signature

Signed for delivery means it is delivered to the address, not the exact addressee? The postman delivers to the address and never checks the ID of the person signing to match it to the named addressee. They are not allowed to deliver to a neighbouring address.

I don't know how paypal will view this but I would assume proof of delivery to the address is sufficient to protect you, which you have.

can you claim from the post office?

blueshoes · 19/01/2009 21:21

Knickers, why do you say it was not delivered to her address? Royal Mail cannot deliver to any address other than the one you put on the envelope.

sarah573 · 19/01/2009 21:24

I should imagine paypal will find in your favour with this one. You have done your bit here, you not only have proof of postage but you have proof of delivery. I would offer to send her a copy of the recorded slip and tell her that she will have to take it up with the post office. Don't send the original though, just in case you need to produce it to paypal.

I had this happen to me once. Item sent for me, was allegedly signed for, but not by me. Seller got copy of signature from Royal Mail. I confirmed it wasn't mine, then she made a claim against Royal Mail. THey paid up and sherefunded my money. Still wonder who got the Prada shoes though - grrr!

blueshoes · 19/01/2009 21:42

Spacetrain, was there anyone else with access to your address eg conversion with shared front door?

no5 · 19/01/2009 21:49

good, she got it. i have had problems with particular mnetter who bought twice from me, and parcel got lost twice. she always asked me to post as cheap as possible, so i had no proof.
