Have you ever sold something for "cash on colllection" on ebay - and got a real buzz when they picked it up??

because I just have .

Random set of golf club, bag, 3 random balls and a load of tees (ones exH bought 3yrs ago, used 2 times and then forgotten about - he didn't want them and reckoned they were worthless and no-one would want them) - they sold for £10

. Woman has just been to pick them up with her son (who I reckon was probably about 12/13) - he couldn't wait to get his hands on them - was barely out the gate before he'd pulled one of the clubs out to look at it - have a feeling it was bought for him as he was evidently over the moon with them. I think I've just made a young lad very happy

Yes, i sold a huge amount of lego, when the lady came to pick it up she explained that her son was off school for a while (sick) and she got him the lego to keep him busy. It was nice to see it go to a good home.

Aw, that is so sweet. Early Xmas pressie for him, I reckon.

Awwww that's really lovely

I sold a Brum style pedal car & the couple who collected it were thrilled to bits with it - they couldn't wait to take it home for their grandkids - awww!

Yes I have a good feeling they've gone to a good home - and now they're out of my bedroom too (and of course added bonus for me is an extra £10 )

Thinking about it now - I suppose it's the complete "beginners" golf set, had a driver and a putter, and a range of irons in it. But I know nothing about golf and so did one of those "I haven't really got a clue what I'm selling - here's what I see - if you've got any questions you can ask them but don't expect me to know the answer" type listings

(and for your amusement here it is

And I really did want them to go to somewhere where they'd be used and wanted - still to this day don't know why exH suddenly got the desire to play golf, he never watched it on the TV and it seemed such a waste.

Has inspired me to really get on with my plans for the weekend, listing all of my sorted out (to get rid of) stuff on ebay - actually I probably won't get it all on this weekedn - there's too much of it. Give myself until just before Christmas to sell as much as I can (got a car boot sale on the 22nd of this month too) then EVERYTHING that hasn't sold - regalrds of what I think it might be worth will be on freecycle.

Question is...were you still in your PJs?

guyFAwkesreQuiem · 08/11/2008 13:13

yes I was still in my PJ's - although I'd pulled my black hoodie over the top (as it's cold lol) so didn't look so bad - just looked like I had my slouching around the house clothes on

I left a cage outside for someone on freecycle the other day and later on they emailed me with pictures of the cockatiel looking perfectly at home and pictures of his very happy dd as well! Made me glow for a few hours

oh yes - that reminds a few weeks ago I gave away a garden bench/chair on Freecycle. Should have been a gorgeous piece of garden furniture (was hand made in South Africa out of Eucalyptus wood) - would have had a retail price of approx £200 had it been sold in the UK retail.

However it was one that we'd got from a trade show 3yrs ago. Had been sat (in pieces - never put together) in my greenhouse for ages - so had faded in parts where the sun had got to it, and then later left directly on the grass on the garden (still in pieces) for about 6 months with it's box sort of half on top of it/partly underneath it - making a right mess of some bits of it. The nuts and bolts had been lost. Although the cushions for it were still safely in their box in the house. and ha

I put it on freecycle explaining the condition and had a taker - who said he was sure he had enough nuts and bolts in his "box of useful stuff" in his shed. He picked it up just after lunch one Saturday, and emailed me later that night to tell me he'd managed to put it together, and they had "tested it" enjoying the afternoon sun (was the last lovely day we had which was nice enough to sit out and enjoy the sun) - and he even added that the arms of it were wide enough to rest a drink safely on .

I had been going to throw it in the skip until a friend suggested putting it on there........I thought perhaps someone would take it for firewood
