I've just found out I'm having a boy this time so I'm planning to sell all the pink stuff from dd.

I'm just wondering how is best to do it, including but not exclusively:

is it best to sell winter things now and wait until next spring to sell the summer clothes now? Will I make more money at the right time of year IYSWIM.

I'm planning on doing bundles of the stuff like tesco/next/george clothes but have a few 'nice' Humphrey's Corner outfits - are these worth doing separately?

what's the best/cheapest way to wrap for postage? I've recieved a few things wrapped in plastic (thick carrier bags) but don't have many of that kind of thing. Should I buy a big roll of brown paper?

Any other tips?

Oh and does anyone sell on here? Is it worth it? Do lots of people buy on here? I never look at the sale boards any more!

I'd do the tesco etc stuff in bundles maybe and keep similar stuff together. I did a set of tops the same size, etc. 5 to a bundle. And, yes, I'd sell the better outfist separately.

I had some tissue paper that I wrapped them in, then put them into jiffy bags, although those blue plastic pastage bags would be cheaper I think. The tissue paper seem to fool people a bit I think I had so many comments about the stuff being 'beautifully wrapped', when it was just a bit of old pink tissue paper!

I don't have a lot of answers, but I have just discovered to my cost one thing - don't have auctions finishing during the day! I've just attempted to sell lots of baby clothes, and thought I'd catch the SAH brigade with auctions finishing at 2pm-ish. I had loads of watchers on almost everything, but most went completely unsold, and when things did get bids it was usually just the starting price. I'm not sure why - it was good stuff like Boden and Monsoon, so I've relisted with auctions finishing in the evening when I've had more luck in the past.

I tend to package things in freezer bags, and then inside envelopes, because I haven't been able to find any of those plastic bag envelopes as the Post Office doesn't have them. Make sure you get proof of postage though.

No idea about the rest of your questions - sorry!

Thanks! Good tips

Do you think about 5 items in a bundle is about right? I didn't know whether to do lots but 5ish sounds good.

Will definitely do evening sales too. I always get stuff cheapest in day time sales!

You can buy the plastic postage bags from ebay, in all shapes and sizes really cheap , they are expensive at the post office. Always end evening, sunday definately best but not saturday! List like items together like 3 or 4 tops in a bundle & nicer items like boden, monsoon , humphreys corner seperately. People tend to like bundles as they feel they are getting more for their money and you only pay one listing fee.

oh, and defininately only sell winter stuff now
