Its a Colin montgomery book on how to play golf (DH thinks he doesn't need it )
However as Is aid it weighs about 1.5kg and the postage would work out at around 6.50, I usually send recorded, but that option isn't availiable for parcels, which is what the book would have to go as becasue it's so heavy.
Would you want to buy a book that cost about £7 for potage? I did think of chargin them part postage, say £3.50/£4.00

You could do it as collection only.

Is it a particularly sought-after book? Maybe people would want to pay even that amount of postage?

I read the subject as "DH has a book he wants me to READ but it weighs 1.5kg" and I was very amused you weighed your books before reading!!! LOL!! I may have to start doing that!

Can you sell it locally - does your local paper do ads for free?

just charge the appropriate postage. i sell books of this weight all the time. Don't bother part charging - you never get thanked for it - if someone wants the book they will pay for it.

have you looked it up on completed listings?

saltire · 24/06/2008 17:33

I had a look on listings that are currently active and couldn't see it, it's called The Thikning Mans Guide to Golf, by Colin Montgomerie.

the only one that has a bid has low postage and standing at 99p at the mo - therefor they will be selling at a loss.

even selling on amazon would make a loss

maybe wait and see what the market looks like nearer christmas?

fymandbean · 24/06/2008 18:12

give it to charity shop

fymandbean · 24/06/2008 18:13

ps I do that with all heavy books as you can never ebay or amazon them cost effectively.

sixlostmonkeys · 24/06/2008 18:16

hehe, and that's why I go to charity shops....cos people give away good books just because they are heavy (and then i sell them on ebay)
