It's otherwise in perfect condition, and I otherwise like it - but I wouldn't have bid as high as I did had it not been described as new. I feel a bit diddled and I really hate the smell of pongy washing powder.
Do I take it further or live and learn?

depends you seem happy with it pongy washing powder is better than smoke

is it obviously not new does it have wear and tear as some people do freshen up new items as maybe got a bit musty smelling and if your happy then i dont see the problem

I never believe anyone who says BNWOT. IMO if it's BN it's also WT.
Live and learn I'd say.

I don't think I would mind if it was in perfect condition - as bubblegirl says - maybe it smelt smoky or musty and they washed it to freshen it up for you ? Personally I always wash stuff I buy from ebay before wearing t anyway - so it wouldn't bother me at all.

Another thing is that i could be guilty of this - I frwqurently buy stuff, wash and iron it and then hang it up and don't wear it - I would call that BNWOT too !

i also have bought stuff removed tags and never worn it and sold it bnwot

but have also bought stuff that has clearly been worn described the same

but you do seem happy with it so let it be

I suppose that I sell things fairly frequently, and am v scrupulous about my descriptions - to me washed means "used". It's this season's so it shouldn't have been smelly!

I agree with what many sellers have said. Sometimes things get a little frousty, if they've been in storage for a while, and some people would object to receiving stuff through that smelled bad!

So...to wash, or not to wash? I guess that's the question. Personally, I wouldn't wash but then I risk the 'got it and it stank' type feedback!

If you think the item has been worn, contact the seller and ask for a response. They may offer a discount??? Alternatively, if you like what you've got and are otherwise happy, just let it lie....
