If the fabric of the wedding dress is silk then the pulls in the fabric are slubs - a natural feature of silk - not a flaw.

lindseyfox · 23/06/2008 21:10

ohh thanks for that mspontipine thought it was flaws.

will take some new pics tommorow and reload them the right way round out of plastic.

regarding reserve thought i would see what it fetches has been in my wardrobe now for 18mths so just want to get rid of it.

thanks for all advice and will def mention silk slubs!!!

thanks

For the next broderie anglaise halter top, you need to fill in the item specifics. Some buyers will filter by those specifics, so it is better to fill those in.

The photos can be better. Yes, turn the skirts round. Take in natural light. Plain background. Remove clothes from hangars and spread out on the ground. Smooth all creases out.

I cannot see a lot of the details eg how it fastens, elastic? I appreciate it is difficult for black but if you cannot show it in the photo, you should try to describe.

If you are from a smoke-free, pet-free house, worth mentioning.

Your prices are reasonable. Good luck

The point is not that the clothes must be on the floor (!) but lying flat on a horizontal surface to show off width of the skirt and more details.

If you mind clothes being on the floor per se you are probably not the sort of buyer eBay was meant for - that's fine, to each her own.

well first 5 items sold - the wedding dress when for the princely sum of wait for it

£1.20 yes i havent acidentally put the decimal place in it went for one pound and twenty pence!!! lets hope it a bride on a mega tight budget.

just glad to clear some room.

husband didnt get the excitement i had for watching them end!!

got 2 items ending tommorow- cant believe 14 people are watching a bra (well could believe 14 men would be if it had boobs in it!)

lindsey, you have done very well to sell 5 out of 7. It's addictive, isn't it?\

My main incentive is to clear out space as well, so the final price is not important. Though it is always nice to see a bidding frenzy at the end, a nice return and hopefully an appreciative buyer. Your wedding gown has found a good home.

Your bra could very well go for a good price {smile].

lindseyfox · 29/06/2008 13:51

well the other 2 items sold the bra got £3.20 and the top £2.40 so all in all not too bad as sold all 7 items didnt make mega bucks but will def use ebay in the future.

got to pack it all now and label it up.

off to post office tommorow.

lindseyfox, it is a good result .

I find that selling on eBay is mostly a labour of love because it really isn't worth the effort for used clothes. But occasionally you have an item which sells for a lot especially brand names, sometimes more than I paid for it. It is quite good to keep your eBay selling skills up-to-date for that.

I have sold household appliances, furniture, baby sling for quite a decent amount.

lindseyfox · 29/06/2008 19:57

Thanks for advice have just listed some more items cleared out the dvds found we had some still in wrapper we are so naughty.

will wait to sell wedding coat when i am a bit more experienced at it i think.

have put some baby hat and mittens on there by jasper conran new with tags if anyone is interested.
