Won and item, it wasn't as described.

Opened dispute as seller wasn't being very helpful, or fair.

Anyway, she's finally decided to offer a full refund and also the return postage.

How can I be sure that she'll stick to her word regarding the return postage - how will paypal know how much the return postage is?
Will she have to refund that separately or will she make one payment?

Thanks in advance.

Ok. One step at a time.
Are you at claim status or just dispute? Did you have to escalate to a claim? I doubt it if she has agreed to accept it back, but this sometimes happens after a claim is raised.
Has paypal emailed you asking you to return the item? You need to wait till they tell you to. Then you need to send it trackable, ie recorded signed for.
Once it is received by the seller, paypal will issue you a refund of the original amount including the original postage.
They do not insist on a seller paying the return postage so this is up to her.
You could ask her to refund your postage in advance for you to post the item (get it weighed and a quote from PO)
then you can return it for the rest of the refund.
This means she won't have the chance to renege on her promise.
Actually I'm not sure if this works as you only have a limited time frame to post it...no, it should be Ok. If you do this and she doesn't send you the money to return it, then you simply escalate to a claim if you have not already done so.

If you have, you need to take her word for it and she might not stick to that.

Hope that makes sense...ask me to clarify if not

Thank you, Flight.

We're at claim status - got until the 11th, but the way seller is faffing about and trying to get out of paying, I'm considering ending contact and escalating it to a claim.

Seller agreed to refund, but gave me a total which wouldn't cover return costs.

I told her this and she lied about how much it cost her to send - I still have parcel it was sent in!

I told her the exact costs as I've already weighed jacket and checked with Royal Mail.

Am awaiting her response now.

So, you think I should ask her to send cheque for return postage first?

Thanks, once again. Help much appreciated.

The seller can refund via paypal if that is how you paid her. It is very easy. She can also send you the extra money through paypal. I would ask her to do both within 3 or 5 days and tell her that you will upscale it a claim is she has not done so. If it is upscaled to a claim she cannot leave you negative feedback and she will have to refund your money. To be honest I would just upscale to a claim and put your request for a full refund plus additional postage costs in the dialougue box that is part of the claim.

Not sure if that feedback thing is correct? If so I have some juicy negs to leave as a buyer!!

It doesn't sound too hopeful re the return postage, Wux.
What is the item? If it's big you can get a courier to do it for about £6.

Ok, she has responded agreeing to refund with correct return postage costs, but "refund only after feedback left"!

What now?

Don't buy it Wuxy...sorry, she is being ridiculous, how are you meant to trust someone who is holding you a feedback hostage?
Escalate, now.
You might not get your return shipping but she is taking the piss and you probably won't anyway.
This is something to always be aware of...paypal do not insist on return shipping being paid unfortunately, but at least you can get the original if you escalate.

Btw feedback - don't leave it till after the changes come in in May. That way she cannot leave you a neg or a neutral - sellers are not allowed to after May, not sure what date, it will be in the announcements which you can link to at the bottom of every ebay page in small print.

If you leave her feedbck now you will prob get a neg and also you won't get your return postage I imagine. Possibly. There is no guarantee but anyone who demands fb before refunding is dodgy imo x

And never close a dispute/claim before you receive the refund, I mean not a promise of, but actually you have it in your account - if you close you cannot reopen, so if someone says, 'close the case and I will refund you after' is pulling a fast one.

You wait for refund, then you can close.

HTH!

Do you want link for cheapo couriers?

"refund will be issued only after item received and feedback left, my last word"

So, looks like I'll have to escalate the claim.

Just wondering where I stand regarding feedback. Once it's all been dealt with, do you think it'd be better not to leave her any feedback? She will only give me a retaliatory negative.

Much thanks.
