What's it like selling on Vinted?

I've been an Ebay business seller for 20 years selling vintage and antiques but yet again they've made it harder for us to make money. Ebay now offer no fee selling of clothes for private sellers. Business sellers still have to pay fees! So it's now pointless as all those registered 'private' sellers have a huge advantage.
A few questions about Vinted. What happens if your item gets lost or damaged by the courier? Do you get compensation? I can see that buyers get compensation but what about sellers? I sell vintage clothes, mostly under £100. Also, it seems the buyer chooses the shipping. On Ebay I always use Royal Mail tracked 48 as I've lost items using Yodel and it's a bugger to get compensation off them.

You can restrict shipping options offered so can only do Royal Mail if you want. Your issue will be that selling pricey items without any reviews will be a red flag for a lot of buyers, so if you can build a few reviews with cheaper items first that will help you.

I'm not a business and I'm not a seller, but look at some of the Facebook complaint pages.

You can get away with selling anything there now and vinted are uncontactable. Tou will get an automatic message. I've just been scammed myself. I wouldn't touch them with a bargepole.

I've not had any problems with Vinted and use yodel due to my location. They've lost a couple of parcels which I got refunded for. None of my stuff is expensive though - the most expensive thing I've sold was a £60 cashmere jumper. I follow a few vintage sellers on there -cakedvintage , Hardingscorner Simonasummer and Cheekymonkey 2 definitely use yodel as I've bought from them.
I think if you upload too much you'll be offered a pro account I'm not sure what the cost is with this or how you spot who has one .

I had a couple of goes at setting up an account on Vinted and have been banned ever since. Can't get though to anyone to explain and so it's a no go for me.

I would say very, very, slow if you are offering anything NWT or NWOT or high quality Vintage.

Even listing at a 1/4 of original price you will get chancers offering £5.

Then there is the hassle of people who won’t mark the item as received, even though RM tracking shows it as delivered, so you wait a long time for your money.

Buying used to be OK, but recently there seem to be far more scammers. Items listed as NWOT which turn up dirty, with holes, and mucky tissues in the pockets.

Personally I think Vinted has had it’s day.

I agree, it's definitely had its day. I think it worked well on trust initially until scammers caught on.

@TheolderIget thanks for the info. Not getting paid until someone marks the item received, that's a red flag for me.
