Rejected stuff from Vinted for the first time

I got two dresses through from Vinted today. Both were described as "very good" condition. One wasn't even washed and had missing sequins, the other looked so old and worn, like it had been washed a thousand times and had sweat marks at the armpits.

I know not to expect brand new items but this was taking the piss. The sellers were, in fairness to them, responsive and immediately accepted returns.

I've bought fairly regularly from Vinted over the last two years or so and this has been my first bad experience, hopefully it's not a sign of things to come!

Vinted is getting so bad for this now! So many things listed 'new without tags' are obviously worn.

I've just returned a designer polo shirt bought for ds as it was listed as a large but the sizing was way smaller than mediums he already has in the same brand, it had clearly been badly shrunk! The logos and labels were questionable too, I have suspicions it was fake!

I bought a size 8 dress for the beach…my 6 yr old titch is currently wearing it on the beach!!!

the listing are shocking!!!

Unless there are super clear photos and the seller is happy to answer additional questions about the condition, I don't bother. The last three purchases haven't been as described. I've gone back to eBay which has items in better condition.

I tried to buy from a seller recently but they didn't send the item. Vinted refunded my money. When I looked at the reviews this has obviously happened to a few people but vinted haven't removed the seller. Which I found surprising!

I’ve returned a couple of dresses because they were shot in weird light 💡 and when they arrived colour was completely different as in picture. “Tropical Trousers” described as “bright orange” turned out to be “pale mustard”, “orange shoes” that turned burgundy or maroon in real life. Do people not make sure the colour in the photo matches the item when they upload pictures? Thankfully Vinted always returned my money.

I love the 'never been worn ' listings and there they are modelling said item 🤦‍♀️

I've been lucky lately with the items I've got . Branded items that are basically brand new . I always buy from people who got good reviews .

I've gone back to ebay where there seems to be more choice after they removed the fees for selling clothes . Generally better condition for some reason.

New without tags shouldn't even be an option.

Frequently people even put in the comments that they've only worn it for a couple of weeks and still listed it as new without tags.. it's either new or isn't.

Sellers can get away with it as Vinted are so inept at forcing refunds anyway and some sellers have got no shame!

Me too. eBay has a much higher level of scrutiny and the sellers have generally been using the platform for a long time and don't want to risk poor feedback. Also eBay stops sellers' money if an issue is raised and will hold it until it's resolved.

So sellers really don't want the hassle of trying to get away with selling rubbish!

The problem with returning is you have to pay post.

I am totally fed up with Vinted.
Garments are disgusting with bodily fluids on them. And sold as NWT and the pockets are full of hair and dander. This week, I have had a stinking bag that the seller said she'd cleaned with Febreeze as if that would get the smell of fifty thousand fags and chip fat out of the leather. I wanted the bag and thought I could clean it up but its still in quarantine.

Then a jacket that must be about 10 years old and very tired. To be fair seller did say it was worn- but still.
To be honest I can't be arsed to argue with them or pack the stuff up and then pay to send it back and I have written it off. But I've still lost £25!
I have had quality garments for sale and buyers have made piss taking offers even when I have said sorry I'm not accepting offers.

I think it is a sign of things to come. I have had enough and I'm out! It's a total waste of time.

Oh and Stinking Fag Lady had the cheek to leave me one star feedback because I complained!

Yes I edit photos to ensure the colour matches closely the colour of the item. Things like cool/warm bulbs, time of day etc really impact how the colour translates in an image.
