Vinted- given neg feedback from Vinted - I was away and unable to post item.

My item sold earlier this week when I was unable to access the internet or post anything. (I don't use my phone or the app for Vinted.)

I messaged the buyer when I saw the sale and I assumed I had time to post it today. Within a couple of hours of contacting the buyer- who said they wanted it- Vinted messaged it was too late and gave me neg feedback.

I've relisted it but can I do anything about the feedback?

Whether you are new to selling on Vinted or not, common sense tells you that when someone purchases your item they aren't going to wait around twiddling their thumbs whilst you are away on holiday and can't post it within the agreed time frame.

You truly earned the negative feedback.

As someone who this has happened to, it's really frustrating to buy something (especially if it's for a particular occasion) to wait and wait and then have the transaction cancelled because the seller was "away".

So no, I don't think there's much you can do apart from suspend/remove listings when you are away or contact the buyer as soon as it is sold if you can't post in time. If you download the app you can receive notifications for this reason.

If the buyer still wants it, relist the item and reserve it for them. You can’t get rid of the automated negative feedback, but you can reply to it. Add something like “Had to go away suddenly and unfortunately missed the deadline. Will remember to switch on holiday mode in future! Buyer has now repurchased from new listing” (if they do indeed agree to this).

I went away once and then thought “Shit, didn’t put holiday mode on”, only to go into the app and see I’d sold something. I agreed with the buyer that I’d relist so they could still buy. Totally my own fault, and I’d have had no reason to complain if the buyer had told me they were not interested anymore, but it was worth asking and it worked for us both in the end.

Mistakes happen. If you can put it right, do it, and you’ll probably get a more positive result this time.

If you have relisted it, did you give the buyer a message and allow them to buy it again?

Once a buyer leaves feedback, the automatic vinted review is removed

That won’t happen if it’s a new listing.

No. If you're away you set your account to "holiday mode" so that people can't buy your stuff until you can send it.
This is your fault

This. You didn’t send it so thats why you got that feedback

The item had been for sale for ages. I'd had little interest in it.
I think the sale went through on the day when I was travelling. I've always sold on Ebay and have sold a few items on Vinted but didn't know there was a holiday mode.

If you sold on Ebay did you also sod off and let people wait for their items then?
It is just common sense to check and cancel the listing or turn it off if you aren't going to be able to send it regardless of the selling platform.

You can't just decide you can't be arsed and then be surprised when you get negative feedback.

She didn't do that though, did she?

Typical MN.
