She needs to pay for the return postage if she wants it back.

quint · 04/03/2008 14:28

You were lucky she sent you the postage you paid back - many don;t and they don;t have to. If the postage wasn;t that much anyway and you feel it was a genuine mistake rather than a scam, I would just send it back and leave it at that.

VictorianSqualor · 04/03/2008 14:28

You have to send it back, you can't sell something that you havent paid for, which if you have it and she has refunded you, you havent.

She paid the money it cost to send it to you though didn't she?

bubblagirl · 04/03/2008 14:34

e mail her and ask her what she wants done she may choose to not worry about having item back as would cost about the same to buy as sending it or she may want it back at her expensed have you asked her

as for postage sellers do add on due to handling packing costs etc

e mail her she is the only one who will have answer for you

Pannacotta · 04/03/2008 14:35

Try emailing her and saying eg thanks for the refund, but as she had labelled it wrongly, you would appreciate her covering the cost of return postage, that its not really fair that you should be out of pocket due to her mistake, blah blah.

A seller doesn't have to pay for the return postage. I'm surprised she has refunded you without insisting on it being returned first tbh.

Just send it back in it's original packaging.

Pannacotta · 04/03/2008 14:41

You dont need to confront her, just remind her that it will cost x amount to send it back to her which you appreciate her covering, does she still want you to go ahead and send it as the postage is more than the cost of the item? She might just say to keep hold of it (as a seller that's what I would do as long as I thought the buyer wasnt trying it on).

If the actual postage was half her p+p charge then she has sent you enough to return the item too. You don't have to shell out for packaging etc like she did.

can I just whisper

Got it right round my neck and yes you are out of pocket by the returning postgage cost.

(Maybe just add quickly too) Yes seeing as she described it incorrectly she should refund that too.
