I've been using Vinted for just over a year and bought and sold loads of things without any issues at all, in fact my feedback is all 5* and positively glowing. This isn't surprising since I only sell mine and the children's excess clothes and everything is good quality, pristine and reasonably priced to sell.
I recently sold a dress, is was nice, good condition but not a top brand and had been worn and washed a few times but I've been clearing out following significant weight loss and just want obsolete stuff gone from my wardrobe. I listed it at £5, the buyer offered £3, I wanted it gone so I accepted and posted the same day.
Roll forward the buyer has sent a claim to Vinted saying there's a mark on the dress, I'm not aware that there was a mark and they have sent a photo of what looks like a dollop of ketchup. I can't believe that I would have missed that as from their photo it's in a prominent place. I've to the seller to say that I can't believe I missed the mark and if they return it I will of course refund them, which is what I thought is standard Vinted policy.
They've now responded saying they want an immediate refund and won't pay the return postage, and will leave negative feedback if I don't agree. I suspect that they didn't like the dress or it didn't fit and just want their money back, which is a risk you take buyer secondhand clothes.
The transaction is showing as suspended with Vinted as they have raised an issue, so I haven't received the £3. So if I stick to my guns and insist they return for a refund, in line with policy, are they able to leave negative feedback as they say they intend to?
I could refund them, but out of principle I feel that they are cheating the system and the dress definitely didn't have a blob of ketchup on it when sold.
Any advice.
