Why oh why do some people get so offended when you make offers? Do they not get that it's the whole point? 🤣🙈

Another who doesn’t think that’s the point of Vinted. If you want to be flexible over price and haggle, use eBay. If not just pay what they’re asking or scroll past.

But eBay allows for fixed prices, whereas Vinted doesn’t!

I've just had someone want a bundle, for 3 items that were £1 each. So they've already got 20% off because it's a bundle, and then they've offered 25% off as well. So 3 very lightly used items that retail at over £30, she wants all three for less than £1.80? How's that worth my time to post?

It's ok to be offended when someone's being a cheeky arse.

DyslexicPoster · 13/02/2024 11:11

It's not the whole point to me. I sell kids clothes for a few quid each. If you offer me £1 for my £2 listing it's not worth the trip to post it. The whole point of Vinted is to recoup some of the price I paid before I charity shop it.

I don't normally ask for discounts either. If its overpriced I skim over it.

£1 off a £5 item maybe if its been up for a while. But normally people who ask for £2 off a bnwt kids item for £5 loose out as it gets bought at full price.

I guess we all have different reasons for using Vinted.

I love it because it clears up space in my home, is better for the planet by recycling items and earns me a bit of change at the same time.

I wrap everything in carrier bags I already have and I've fixed my posting settings so that I only ever use the corner shop across the road from me. I show the barcode and they print the label.

It's so easy for me I don't care if someone offers me 50p. Sometimes I accept low offers sometimes I haggle - which can be fun!

SwordToFlamethrower · 09/03/2024 15:15

I'll never join vibted because I loathe haggling!

I don't reply to offers. I have already listed 'my best price' and anything less isn't worth the hassle. I also don't make offers as the things are cheap enough already generally.

LadyBird1973 · 10/03/2024 09:31

I think it's okay to make an offer if something is expensive and has been listed for a long time - clearly no one was willing to pay full asking price.
A seller isn't obliged to accept - you can refuse and then the potential buyer can either pay what you've asked or move on.
If I don't sell something on vinted I'll eventually put it in a charity shop, so it's still being recycled and someone will benefit.
I wouldn't make an offer on an item that I considered to be reasonably priced - I think that's just cheeky.

Well of course you don’t have to acknowledge offers - that’s your right. But you can’t be annoyed at people for making them when you chose to list on a platform that doesn’t allow fixed pricing.

Also from a lazy point of view my nearest charity shop is a bus ride away. The shop across the road to post Vinted items is much more convenient Grin
