Hi all,
I'm new here :)
Any advice about reviews on Vinted? I only had good ones but 2 bad ones now
Thanks in advance

What did the reviews say? Was it warranted?

xsquared · 23/06/2023 11:22

Were the negative ones deserved?

I think you can still sell and buy but personally, I'd be wary of trading with someone with a high negative feedback rate.

Hi,
I sold an item - brand new; the person used it for a day; clicked on all ok
Then next day messaged me complaining that the shoe rubbed her feet
I asked if she can send me any evidence so I can potentially refund; not sent any photo; 5 days later left a bad review -very argumentative in messages. I sent her screenshots of all conversations to show that never received her photo
She re-sent it this morning but there a tiny mark on her toe; literally can hardly see it & she used the shoes but still expects me to give full refund
Just a bit upset now, cause I never had a bad review for anything I sold; used or new items...always had nice reviews; I feel a bit cyber bullied but the Vinted team just sent me an automated text saying I should try to solve with other person;
I was intending to refund half price & leave the item cause she used it but her language is so argumentative in the text messages; we are not getting anywhere
Sorry to express here my upset

If she’s worn them and Vinted have sent the money just ignore it. Leave a reply saying they were new and she could have responded before Vinted released the money but didnt.
Buying on Vinted is a bit of chance and there was nothing wrong with the item or your description so don’t worry

MannaChong · 23/06/2023 14:06

Yes...I don't mind the feedback but it feels as is not 100% genuine; and it was no need for the rudeness;
I bought items myself, that were not as I expected but never did a big issue with it; I still have dresses that are on a side of my wardrobe and very likely will be gifted as I can't wear them. I think I just took to heart to much...thanks a lot for your feedback; I appreciate it

I'd respond nicely to her feedback to say you're sorry that the shoes didn't fit and you hope she finds a pair that can accommodate her MASSIVE MEATY TOES soon.
Obvs include a smiley face or two.

MannaChong · 23/06/2023 16:56

:)))) you made me smile, thanks
I said thanks love, for letting me know & she was firing me off!!

Oh, that's really awful of her. There will always be people like her online who buy something, use it and claim there's something wrong with it to get their money back.

Just respond factually to her feedback. People do read them, so your calm reasonable reply should convince others it wasn't your fault.

Highdaysandholidays1 · 23/06/2023 22:25

Ugh, this is not your fault. One bad review wouldn't put me off. Lots would. Just quickly sell some other stuff, be super quick and helpful and that one review will be less important over time.

cansu · 05/08/2023 11:17

Why would this be your fault? People have blisters from new shoes all the time.

Alargeoneplease89 · 05/08/2023 11:21

I use vinted alot and the only reviews that put me off are ones were several people have said item not sent or seller cancelled. If someone left negative feedback because the item didn't fit then I think idiot.

magicalkitty · 05/08/2023 11:25

I think you should offer a refund if she returns the item. She will have to pay the postage, which will probably put her off and make her go away. She sounds like a chancer. No way should you have to refund because they rubbed her feet!

Dombasle · 05/08/2023 11:41

People are weird.

I sold a handbag once and took a gazillion photos including a shot of 'look at all the things that can fit in it!' and a photo of my daughter modelling it so it could be seen being carried as a useful way to show the size.

I gave measurements in inches and centimetres.

The buyer messaged me in a complete rant saying her laptop wouldn't fit.

I had shown an iPad fitting into the bag and given the dimensions of the iPad!

She then sent me a photo of the bag along with a photo of a laptop the size of a small car!

I've also had a run in with a fool who I sold a vintage 9ct gold necklace and pendant to and she messaged to say that gold didn't suit her and could she return it and did I have the same but in silver.

It was sold as secondhand and bought in the 1970s!

She then sent a photo of her hands and wrists wearing silver wrings and a bracelet and watch to PROVE ago me that she only suits silver!

Oh and when I sold a whole load of my sons trainers when he was a teenager and had worn some of them only once or not at all I was badgered by a man who claimed to only have one leg and insisted I should sell him only one at half the price I was asking.

These were expensive brands as my son took up collecting unusual and rare trainers for awhile but then asked me to sell them as he wanted money for skateboards instead.

What a bizarre request and he was really horrible about it when I refused.

RudsyFarmer · 05/08/2023 11:44

You are not responsible for the shoe rubbing her foot FGS! If you were an independent shoe shop who had measured her feet and recommended a shoe, then she might have a point, but not under the circumstances you are describing.

Some people are just bonkers. Honestly 🙄
