How do I pay a seller in Ireland in Euros (he has no PayPal account)? I am in UK with a £ cheque book.

Is there something I can get from the post office like a postal order, but made out in Euros? Amount is 25 Euros.

TIA

I know if you do it the other way (i.e receive a cheque in euros to lodge in a UK bank account) my bank charges a large fee for the transaction. Has the seller got a bank account - that way you could lodge the money into his account from here if you get all the details (you'll need more than just the sort code and account no though). There will be still a small fee but not as much...

tbh i'd have to really want something to go to all the hassle - plus isn't it more open to fraud if he hasn't a paypal account?

Thanks - I agree with you - too much hassle, but my brother has won the item (a strange DVD!) so I've got to pay for it.

presumable the seller knew your brother was based in the UK - I would have thought it's up to him to say how you can get the money to him, given he doesn't have a paypal account. What did it say on the listing? If he hasn't got a bank account you can transfer the money into, I would think your brother would be justified in withdrawing from the transaction?

The only way I can think is a Bank to Bank transfer in Euros possibly costing at least £20 or a draft made out in Euros costing about £10/£15.

Perhaps pulling out would be alot easier. Hope you get it sorted.

you can exchange £ for euros at the PO and send recorded.

not saying I'd recommend this, but it's an option
