Annoying questions

How do you tend to respond to these? if at all.

I have an item for sale at £50 which is what others have sold for in the same condition and make an offer is not enabled. I am not in a hurry to get rid of it.

A message comes in saying

"I wish to buy i for £37".
I ignore this and a few days later
"I wish to buy this for £40"

Give me strength! If I was open to offers I would have it enabled.

Is it rude to reply with "If you want to buy it from me the price is £50"?

I do not want to open myself up to a protracted message exchange when the price is the price and I am confident it will eventually be sold for that.

I block them straight away. I've never had a sale that started off like that and ended well. I'd rather the listing stay up for longer than have to deal with chancers.
I once sold a cheap pendant, someone bought it and demanded 'send me this in sterling silver' Grin

As a seller, you will have to reply to those buyers with simply stated messages.

Dear Valued Customer, thank you for your interest in our product. At this time, the price is fixed and not negotiable. If you have any other questions or concerns, please feel free to let us know. Thank you for considering our business.

Thanks for the advice.

I am not a business seller I am only clearing out various crap that has accumulated in our house over the years.

I will probably reply and say the price is set and ignore any follow up messages.

Yes that will do.

Have they told you about their very expensive heating bill yet??? I am not sure why it does not occur to them that the seller might have big bills too. Anyway to get back to the point if I am in a good mood I reply thanking them for the offer but stating firmly that I am looking for the asking price.

Same. My block list is pretty long. 😆

I get these. Sometimes I put the price of the item up, just to annoy them...
