Can you do returns on vinted?

Jadey31 · 02/12/2022 17:02

No you can't x

Jadey31 · 02/12/2022 17:03

No you can't. Unless it's not as described by the seller. If it's just that it doesn't fit etc then you'll just need to resell it unfortunately xx

dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 17:09

In have agreed the buyer can return it. Just not sure how to make it happen. Do they need to ask?

OP posts:
Sprogonthetyne · 02/12/2022 17:09

Even if it's not as described you have to return at your own expense, so you still end up out of pocket be two sets of postage (to you & back), so depending on the cost of the item, is often not worth it.

dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 17:09

I'm the seller. Sorry wasn't clear.

OP posts:
dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 17:10

Really there's no in app return option?

OP posts:
dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 17:21

If they send it to me can I refund in the app?

OP posts:
dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 18:33

The buyer is asking me how to return and I don't know how to help them.

OP posts:
Jadey31 · 02/12/2022 20:29

I've had this before. Tell them you cannot return on Vinted and tell them to just sell it on.

Ciri · 02/12/2022 20:34

Everyone is wrong. If the seller agrees then you get refunded everything you’ve paid. I did it just last week.

dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 21:26

But I don't want to pay the postage.
I'm returning it to be nice.
I'm not in the wrong.

OP posts:
dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 21:28

The buyer expected something to be part of the package. It wasn't in the post or any of the pictures.
I've pointed it out to them.
But thought, well if they send it back then I'll refund & sell again.
Does that work?

OP posts:
dancingqueen123 · 02/12/2022 21:29

It's really annoying. I wish they'd just asked before buying!

Have they clicked that everything is OK with the order? If they have and the orders completed there's nothing you can do I don't think.

If they haven't, they can click " I have a problem " and can raise a issue saying it's not as described, you will then have the option to refund the buyer and let them keep the items or to request a return. Then Vinted will send them a returns label to post it all back to you and once it's arrived you'll have the option to refund them:

brainstories568 · 02/12/2022 21:34

Surely that's different then? Your buyer wanted something that wasn't advertised rather than you advertising it wrongly. I don't think you should be out of pocket and/or put yourself out for something which was never intended to be sold alongside the actual item. How did they make the mistake anyway? Was there something in the photo which they assumed would be sold with the item? Surely they can just put it down to experience and learn to ask more questions before buying it they are unsure?

It wasn't in the photos or referred to. They just assumed.
I've let them raise a return now, but have stated that they need to send it back in one piece before I will refund. Let's see...

@MrNook thanks. This is what we have done.

When it comes back to you, you have the option to say whether it is in the same condition as when you sent it. If you say there is an issue with the item when it comes back to you, Vinted will look at it and won’t release the refund until they have reviewed it.

Talkwhilstyouwalk · 02/12/2022 21:52

They need to send it back at their expense.

If it's faulty it would be kind, but not mandatory to cover the postage.

In this instance they should pay postage!

Or perhaps ask if they would consider trying to re-sell it first to save themselves postage costs?

Because you’ve used the Vinted process you will have to now refund them the postage and the buying fee. You shouldn’t have agreed

dancingqueen123 · 03/12/2022 14:34

Should I dispute it when it arrives then and just agree to pay buyer direct for the item?

OP posts:
dancingqueen123 · 03/12/2022 14:35

Why is it so complicated?

Not true. Their policy updated recently. If they return the item, the BUYER will have to cover postage fees, Vinted will send them a returns label and the postage fees will be deducted from their refund amount.

The OP will not be out of pocket.
