Buyer send threatening message

I sold something off eby at the beginning of the month and the buyer took 15 days to pay with a variety of excuses and non replies to emails. Anyhow they eventually paid by paypal and I sent the item off last Thursday and I have a receipt. They asked where it was on Monday and I replied that it had gone and they would get it soon but also pointing out that had they wanted it in a hurry they could have had paid quicker.

Today I received this

"don't ask me silly question you were the one to ask for your payment and the one to report if i will not pay now i pay then you're asking if i did manage to pay quicker did you not recieved your money? don't ask me stupid question i want my item coz i did pay for it, don't try to play me a game in silly way coz since i have started with ebay you're the one to do this to me dont try other wise i will come to your house there you think i dont know where you are"

How would you respond?

For info the item was a piece of baby clothing at £1.99 and I have a good feedback with nearly 1000 transactions and they have 4

you can report it to ebay, i am sure at the bottom of the message theres alink to report to ebay.

i would report it and leave it, don't reply to it as i ahve no idea what you would be supposed to say in that situation.

FrannyandZooey · 24/01/2008 18:57

I would report it to eBay, then forget about it

I might or might not mention it in feedback - would certainly not leave +ve feedback!

itsahardknocklife · 24/01/2008 18:59

Report it and don't contact them in response.

Report to ebay

slalomsuki · 24/01/2008 19:04

I never realised I could report them. this is the first time it has ever happened and I am a little suspicios they have the item and want their money back too. the problem is they don't live too far away and they come form a very notorious part of town so to speak

I have reported them.

i'm not sure. i had trouble decifering the message tbh!

how bloody ridiculous though esp over something so small. def report him though. he sounds a right nasty arse

sixlostmonkeys · 24/01/2008 19:27

yup, definitely report.

please tell me you sent it recorded delivery?

slalomsuki · 24/01/2008 19:30

It went no recorded but with a post office receipts/proof of postage. I never bothered because it was of such a small value and recorded delivery has been a pain if someone signes they can dispute the signature as theirs.

I have all the email correspondance via ebay and also copies to my home email which they don't have. I find it a bit laughable due the small value

Have just receive another one accusing me of making up stories and not hvaing the item. Will not respond

If they have a problem let them take it up with ebay, you have a proof of postage so don't need to worry.

sixlostmonkeys · 24/01/2008 20:00

unfortunately proof of posting is no good if they open a paypal claim. Without a tracking number they will get a refund

slalomsuki · 24/01/2008 20:48

To be honest if they had said they hadn't got the item and been polite then I would have refunded and claimed via the PO but I have spent more time on this than its worth.

really? I thought items were sent at buyer's risk unless they pay for recorded delivery?
