item not received after 3 weeks.. is it too early to raise a dispute?

considering I bought items from USA days after winning this one and they arrived ages ago. the seller is not replying to emails either.

it's £25 and I don't know whether to allow a bit longer because of Christmas post etc but that seems unreasonable because everyone else managed to get things here in time and I did win it on 13th December which should have been plenty of time shouldn't it?

so... bit more patience or should I raise the dispute yet? opinions/advice please

I think you technically can't until 1 month has passed.

madamez · 02/01/2008 17:54

Send another email stating that if you have not heard back from the seller within 14 days you will start a dispute. Did you pay by paypal?

Flllightattendant · 02/01/2008 17:56

Sorry I don't think you need to leave it a month, Darrell??

Saying that I believe it could well be delayed at this time of year. Ask the seller for tracking, mentioning that you will need to contact paypal if you don't get a reply as you are worried.

FatBellyJones · 02/01/2008 17:56

yes I paid with paypal, I think more than anything I'm just really pissed off that they don't have the courtesy to even send a token reply or something.

it says on the dispute thingy 10-60 days.

maybe I'm just too impatient, lol but I'll do that, email them with 14 days notice

Thanks you both

FBJ can you give us a seller id or item #? Be wse to check feedback. If you have no reply in a day or two, definitely instigate a dispute. No contact is worrying and uncalled for. They should let you know what's going on. Be nice though as they may just be away partying with family, you know, that kind of thing! [smild]

Flllightattendant · 02/01/2008 18:00

..I would never wait two weeks if they weren't in touch.

FatBellyJones · 02/01/2008 18:04

I just sent an email giving 7 days and asking for tracking info etc

I've checked their feedback and there are a few who say communication is shite and that the item took a long time to arrive.

but out of over 2500 feedback which was 99.6% positive I thought they would be safe

I would email them stating that if you don't hear from them by Saturday then you will file a dispute. You can always cancell it later if the item turns up.

Flllightattendant · 02/01/2008 18:07

Ah well it sounds like it will probably get to you in the end, then! Let us know x

DarrellRivers · 02/01/2008 20:12

i think the month figure from earlier is how long you hve to wait if you are getting your money back from paypal
sorry to confuse
hopefully goods will be here soon

FatBellyJones · 02/01/2008 20:14

hope so too darrell!!

I'll let you all know what happens and thanks again

ok.. so I opened a dispute on the 8th Jan, seller didn't respond to that so I thought it was unlikely that they would and escalated it on the 13th. Still no response so I'm just waiting for paypal to do whatever it is they do now

God< I never leave it a month. Send e-mail, 'demand' response within .... say by Monday.
Then open dispute.
Seems fair.

FatBellyJones · 21/01/2008 07:26

that's pretty much what i did oblomov
