I sold a pair of boots on ebay the other day and sent them off in good faith. They were brand new and still in the box with the original stuffing in them. The buyer is claiming that the zip doesn't work which it did before I packed them since I did it up.

I am not too fussed either way but they were sold for £5 and had cost me £45 and I don't want the hassle of having to rlist them ans take them back etc

Should I get her to send them back and if its faulty refund. I clearly said I don't do returns.

ask her to return them with the original packing.
check that they are your boots, that they haven't been worn and then check the fault etc.
Then refund.

everyone does returns whether they state they do or don't. If a buyer pays with paypal they simply return and receive a refund.

similar thing happened to a friend of mine - a display plate. To keep her reputation she had to refund when it was returned. There was a mark on ith that could not have happened in the post and was not there before but what can you do?

Yes, I agree with SLM. Sometimes people try it on, so to be on the safe side, it's always good policy to ask people to return the goods, so that you can inspect the fault, and then refund.

I had this a few times when selling on eBay. If I had an instinct that they were trying it on, I always asked them to return the goods.

Guess what? They never did!

Thanks for the advice. I have neve had this happen before.

I will email and ask her to return them. It will probably cost her more than the boots anyhow and will take it form there
