Removing negative feedback?

I’m disproportionately annoyed by this Grin

I’ve had 100% positive feedback ever since I started on eBay about 10 years ago and have just been given my first negative feedback.

I’d listed a set of 5 die cuts in white card which were bought. I stated further down in the description that the listing was just for the die cuts and the metal die wasn’t included. Ive been left feedback by the seller saying she didn’t get the metal die and so can’t cut with them!!

I asked eBay if they’d remove the feedback and they said they won’t because “we won’t remove feedback on the grounds a seller believes a comment is untrue or undeserved”. They can check my listing and see that it is categorically untrue and undeserved!

I’ve contacted the buyer to ask if they’ll change it but they’ve not replied to me. I’m so annoyed to have negative feedback when I’ve done nothing wrong! Is there anything else I can do to change it?

You can reply to feedback and explain.

Reply to the feedback.

Tbh, I'm always wary of sellers with 100% positive feedback and it 'seems' fake. It's good to see how they deal with a problem just incase one should arise.

After a year the negative won’t count any more.

Definitely respond to the feedback left - state that the buyer didn’t read the listing properly as you made it clear the die wasn’t included.

You can reply to feedback and explain the issue and how you resolved it. This is helpful as future buyers will use as a way to see how you handle disputes, and could actually make them more likely to buy from you.

I stated further down in the description that the listing was just for the die cuts and the metal die wasn’t included

I will say though something as important as this should really be included in the title. Many buyers don't read the description, heck many don't even read the title but making it as obvious as possible will hopefully help to avoid future misunderstandings.

I’d try calling eBay and speak to someone, it’s really a luck of the draw sometimes with getting feedback removed. Make sure you speak to someone with an Irish accent, if not hang up and try again. The Asian CS reps often just read scripts and don’t always grasp problems very well.

Thank you all for the advice, I will reply to the feedback.

I know it’s not a big deal really, and I wouldn’t mind if I’d made a mistake but just feels unfair when I haven’t done anything wrong!

My title was ‘5 die cuts in white card’ so I can’t see how she could have mistaken it to mean an actual die, or that she might be getting 5 dies for a couple of pound!

Keep your reply factual, like 'buyer didn't read listing', and block her.

I've just had exactly the same thing – negative feedback after nearly 600 sales. Buyer said the item was too small for them. He or she did not ask for measurements before buying and did not ask for a return, just went straight to negative feedback. I'm kicking myself because I almost always include measurements, I don't know why I didn't do it with this particular item! I even say in my listings that I'm happy to provide measurements if required. I left a reply saying I was sorry the item didn't fit and that if they had asked for measurements or a return I would have been happy to help...anyway, it's not a problem in the great scheme of things but I am also annoyed!!
