Never sold on EBay - is it worth it?

Having a lockdown clear out and have about twenty pairs of shoes (mostly Fly London) to sell.
Is EBay my best bet? I've sold through FB market place before but think I'm better with a wider audience.
Any tips? Or is there another site which is better for shoe selling? Smile
TIA.

I'm currently selling after a clear out.

It's alright and at the moment it's free listing until the end of this month.

You can also book for parcels to be picked up from you rather than go to a post office which is a great service.

If your selling named things the new selling site vinted looks good.

Yes, I definitely find it worth it.

I list everything on Buy it Now because I don’t like the hassle of auctions, I offer free postage as a matter of course, and I always, always send items signed for (otherwise some people do take the piss), and I also offer returns. Have only ever had one thing sent back.

I’ve made thousands of pounds on eBay.

Take lots of really good photos. Describe any marks/signs of wear.

Thanks for the help! Just dragged all the shoe boxes out from under my bed. That's where all my money goes! Grin

Definately worth it. Agree with the advice to list as buy it now, allowing offers. I hate waiting to bid on things and being pipped at the last minute. I’d far rather just be able to buy something at a price I’m happy with. I sell a lot on ebay and all on Buy it Now. Make sure you charge enough for postage and send everything signed for. Write a decent description and lots of pictures in good light which leave no doubt about their condition

Think so, please describe accurately though. Eldest wanted original Trivial Pursuit at Christmas. Found one described as good used condition. The box was in bits, the board was split along 3 joints, several cheeses were missing (description had said only 2) and we had a bonus game of guess what the previous players had eaten/drunk while they were playing 😁.
Really disappointing.

Don't sell too cheaply, make sure you know how much the item will cost to post, and remember Ebay charge you 10% on top of that.
So if you send an item economy signed for it will cost you £4.20 at the Post Office and another 42p in Ebay charges.

If you find the cost of post and fees means it isn't worth it for an item, look at putting some items together as a bundle and use Collect Plus & Hermes, as they give better parcel rates.

Clean your items, check them for damage, and take good clear photos in natural light from several angles. Photograph any flaws.
List them with a truthful and accurate description.

Check out the account settings. You can use them to block people who have lots of black marks for non payment or negative feedback.
Block people who live in places you don't want to post to.

Learn how to use the Block list and don't be afraid to block people who try to get something for nothing. When you have a new account it can be a bit like arriving at a car boot sale, you might get people emailing you making silly offers.
Block people who hint they will withhold or leave negative feedback if you don't give them something for nothing.
