Without being too outing an item I put on eBay is selling for way more than it’s worth and I can’t sell it without feeling really bad.
I have put this in the description, told people what it is and specifically asked that people don’t get carried away but it’s going for twice the amount it’s worth. You can literally buy it in the shops for less right now!

Now it’s got bids on it I can’t revise the selling price or put Offers Accepted. I did think I put a Buy it Now price but it didn’t show up.It says I can end it with extra costs involved but I don’t want to disappoint my highest bidder either.
Anything I can do?

This happened to me, a new silk Monsoon dress bought in the sale at an outlet. Bids reached just over £100...I'd paid £12.50, 10 years earlier.
Never understood why, the buyer was delighted with it.

I didn't even think of refunding, that would have been unfair to the second highest bidder.

Very old out of date items, particularly in the IT field (computing , mobiles, technology, sound systems etc) are very collectable. So yes you could buy a new one with much more functionality etc for less, but if someone wants to complete their collection, and your description is accurate, then best of luck to you!

This happened to me last year - it was an Aldi carrot that I’d paid a couple of pounds for and someone bid £29 for it. I kept thinking it was maybe someone who really really wanted one for their DC and felt so guilty I refunded £25 of it. The buyer didn’t even say thank you but at least I could sleep at night!

Not to mention, people sometimes buy "old" things for parts to keep their own (old) equipment functional.
