Placed auction on for 10 days, ended 2 days ago with winning bidder, just had email from them now saying sorry I bid on this in error.

What can I do.

re-list.

launch a non paying bidder alert, so you get your fees back and re-list

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 17/10/2007 15:45

You don't need to launch a NPB alert, you can do it as having mutually agreed not to complete the transaction. If you both agree, you get your fees back and can relist.

Depends how you feel about the bidder really.

I would re list the item as well. What's the buyers feedback like? If it's not good then the chances are they usually do this kind of thing and I would leave negative feedback stating that they failed to make payment

I am really annoyed as got a good price for it, better than I thought I would, she bid on 6 items and won them all, just doesn't want this one.

buyers feedback is 100% 35 previous transactions.

It was a clothing lot, I also had a few items being sold seperately.

am annoyed as it is a big box that I wanted shot of.

well can you not give a second chance offer to the next highest bidder?.....it will only be a little less than what the item sold for originally....

ADragonIs4LifeNotJustHalloween · 17/10/2007 15:54

Personally I'd give them the benefit of the doubt. There's no benefit to you of filing a NPB and you can't actually make them pay.

doublethelovedoublethekisses · 17/10/2007 15:54

I agree, the feedback is good so may have been a genuine mistake?!
Second chance offer sounds like the best way to go

mumfor1standfinaltime · 17/10/2007 16:01

I would personally not do 2nd chance offers, all these say to me is 'the seller bidded it up themselves' and is now offering it to next person inline!

I would open a dispute for non payment and relist straight away, she will probably respond quickly and you can get fees back.

How can anyone 'accidently bid' on something??

glaskham · 17/10/2007 16:17

i have never turned down a second chance offer to me, and whenever i have offered something this way i put in my message that the preson who bid higher than them didn't pay so if you still want it its yours sort of thing....
