Am really bad. Someone has won a listing of mine but am reluctant to let go at such low price.

I know, I have to sell them in good faith and all that. I am sorry didn't start them at a higher price but there are about 30 items and they are immaculate. They sold for £10.50. It is to a lady in Germany but I am baffled because her name was Emma on the question she asked but the address for delivery says a different name. If I thought they were going to an orphanage or underpriviledged children I would send them but I often think people buy bundles of clothing to maybe sell at car boot sales to make more money themselves and she has won lots of items for babies/children of different ages. I will have to send them.

2 things:

firstly, if you wanted more for them then you should have put a reserve on or set a higher first bid price. Sorry, but it's tough - and what she is going to do with them is entirely her concern.

Secondly, my name always comes up as dp's when I pay for my goods as the paypal account is in his name, so everything I buy comes addressed to him. Luckily he doesn't tend to mind me opening his post

Sorry but you have to suck it up. If you sell on ebay that's whay can happen. What she is doing with them really is of no concern. Set a higher starting price next time or put a reserve on it.

Agree with Squonk and I always use dh's paypal too so his name is on there but it's my ebay account.

She might have lots of children hence the different age clothing or be buying for other children?

DoctorFrankenSquonk · 12/10/2007 14:44

and you must have known that putting a bundle together of different age clothes may attract a car-booter or something?

Again, fwiw, my children range in age from 2 to 13 and I also have friends with older and younger children, so I might have bought a bundle like this

It is a risk you take when putting things on ebay unless you set a reserve or a high starting price. I don't think it's relevant that you think the woman will sell the clothes at a carboot, she paid she can do what she likes. It's not like putting things on freecycle where you rely on peoples good faith to only ask for these they need.

On the other hand if your expected £30 for your items for example. Would you have returned £20 to the buyer if the items went for £50. I don't think so!
