that were identical and the postage for each was £1.70, how much would you expect /hope to pay for combined postage?

Aroun £2.25-£2.50 as surely it wouldn't cost much more to send together.

It was a potential buyer that asked me if I would combine postage if she bid on and won both items. I thought about £2.25 but wasn't sure if it was too much, not enough etc!
Thanks

Depends on the items and how much they actually cost to postage.

I rarely offer a discount as I often do P&P so make nothing on it. Often posting the second item at the same time as the first makes no difference to my two individual P&P costs.

Weigh them on your kitchen scales and see what they weigh. You can get the price off the royal mail website.

I'd say £2.25 as long as it covers the actual cost, much cheaper to post together than separately.

sometimes its cheaper still to post them seperately. Pop them on the scALes at the PO and check first

On the RM website, the weight of the two items together works out at £1.92. Allowing for the packaging I think £2.25 is fair.
I don't often get asked to combine postage, and the other time I did do it, it worked out far more expensive to do, although the buyer didn't seem to understand this at the time
