and had asked a question before bidding that was answered quickly,

bid, then won the item which you wanted to pick up - but for the next 24 hours there are no replies to your questions and

A - this was the first thing they'd ever sold - newly registered

and B- the phone number they gave ebay for buyers to use is fake?

24 hours is not long. Give them more time, particularly as they are not regular ebayers.

pipsqueeke · 24/08/2007 14:23

ah right possibly she put a wrong diget in?

how long ago did you win the auction? as I say they could be away form the computer at hte mo - did it mention any thing about holidays?

kitsandbits · 24/08/2007 14:25

Perhaps, but Im cynical of everybody, lol.

if you paid paypal you are covered as they need proof of delivery to you to have completed the transaction as a seller. That is usually why people want cash on collection and won't accept paypal - not just to save on paypal fees.

kitsandbits · 24/08/2007 14:34

I know, but even if I am covered - it would still take about 6 weeks if she is a scammer to get my money back!

Am thinking of opening a dispute - just to covermyself, i cam close it as soon as she contacts me and I pick it up!

But if shes got the money in PP she may send it to her account the PP cant do anything.

last week i sold a silvercross coach built pram on ebay. i forgtoon i had listed it and didnt reply to the buyer straight away. i would be pissed off if someone started a dispute within 24hours tbh.

kitsandbits · 24/08/2007 14:53

But I bet you have previous feedback and you details are fake.

If she had 30 feedbacks at 98% positive, then I wouldnt be bothered,

I just noticed she only registered last week, and has 0 feedback.

would still hack me off.

she might be away over the bank holiday weekend.

MerlinsBeard · 24/08/2007 14:57

aren't you trying to save for new tv?

i would be furious if someone started a dispute within 24 hours. in fact, i don't yink you can' isn't there a certain amount of time has to elapse before you start a dispute?

kitsandbits · 24/08/2007 15:03

Oh Dear I really do hope your get your money back.

With regard to paypal, you are necessarily covered, as I once bougth some dvd's for ds, a complete series £30 worth and I never got them, I filed a claim, ebay ruled in my favour but as the buyer didn't have any money in his paypal account which he closed, I got nothing back. Hopefully yours is not the case.

saltire · 31/08/2007 07:48

Do paypal not ask you to add a bank account to your paypal account so they can take fees, payment etc from it?
