I won an auction for a pair of curtains on 4th August, the seller does'nt accept paypal so sent an email saying a cheque will be on its way, gave the letter to dh to post, yesterday the seller opens a dispute of non-payment, she has not once emailed me to say the cheque has'nt arrived, as it turned out dh had left it in the car, so it was posted yesterday, surely this is all a bit unfair, considering I even emailed her to say the cheque is now in the post, the cheque could have been lost.

And why cant these people who sell hundreds of bloody things open a paypal account, arghhhhhhhhh

people don't have paypal because of fraud and disputes and it favours the purchaser not the seller..I wouldn't ever have a paypal account too many high risks, wouldn't trust it at all

I think the seller is fair tbh

But she could have emailed me first to say the cheque has'nt arrived, my rating is 100% positive.

If someone pays for a purchase from me with cheque and it hasn't arrived after 7 days I email to say it hasn't arrived. When it does arrive I email them to say its here and that I will wait approx 7 days for it to clear then will post item out.

She could have emailed you to see what happened to the cheque.

YANBU, post does get lost at times and it would have been easier to email you than to open a dispute. sounds like a very argumentative seller...!

I think it's against ebay rules to open a non-payment dispute without attempting to contact the buyer.

Really geekgirl?? I will bear that in mind, also I though a disput could not be opened for 14 days.

Bearing in mind that the Royal mail action's still on, I'd have thought she'd have emailed first.

I think the dispute will close if you tick 'pay now' on the response thingy. She may have to confirm she has your cheque.
Don't worry.
