I always tend to do really well selling through the week but as soon as Friday comes it dies a death !!

It's rare I have a sale Fri & Sat but seems to pick up again Sunday evening. Does anyone else have this problem or is it just me ?

I always found Sunday evenings a good selling time .. and Thursday evenings, for some reason.

But yes, I regularly went whole week-ends without selling anything at all.

Tues & Thurs have always been my best selling days.

Maybe it's because most people have a life and are out enjoying the weekend with friends and I'm sat home waiting and praying for sales lol

Sunday evening is known as the best time for listings to end.
Even when I only have shop listings on (BINs) I sell more on a Sunday evening than any other time.
Monday evening does quite well, tho I haven't been able to apply any logic to that - same as Wednesdays, i hardly ever sell anything on a Wednesday but have no clue as to why

Some people say avoid bank holidays, but some swear by them.
Best to always avoid auction ending whilst popular TV show is on - Corrie, Football, Doctor Who etc.
My latest is to try and end around the time people have just been paid.

Thanks sixlostmonkeys,

I agree, I avoid listings ending when popular tv shows or on too.

I never understand why someone watches a shop listing or BIN then buys it with a few minutes to go before the end either I suppose it might not be the same person watching as buys but it always strikes me as strange!

I have noticed tho that shop sales/views have dropped significantly from 12 months ago and I'm spending more on bid for or BIN to increase traffic

Wish i'd seen this thread before I listed some stuff yesterday that will end next Sat afternoon . some good tips on this thread for next time.

stillcryinginside · 05/08/2007 18:08

You could be ok TwotoTango, if it's on bids and it's something people want they will still put bids in, the only thing I tend to find is that buyers generally want something for nowt and try to nip in just before the end to get it cheaply thats sometimes a good thing when you have more than 1 person wanting it and they are determined to get it and keep bidding against each other.

If they're on BIN's they could sell just as well when buyers see them so don't give up hope just yet. If all else fails, re-list making note of the best times for them to end and if they sell 2nd time around you'll get a relist credit.

Good luck

yup, shop sales/views have dropped due to the decreased visibility.
I too do more auctions as a way of guiding people into the shop - it does work to some extent, even when using the cheap listing days (a no-no under normal circumstances...but as a way of guiding buyers in they are ok...)

i doubt I will be doing nay serious listing now until the end of sept. I will prepare stuff in TL but that's about it.
Oh, and waiting till the postal strikes end - I've lost a few things over the past few weeks, and it is putting buyers off too
