Says she’s having probs with her PayPal. It’s for a low value item plus postage. Here’s a screen grab of her latest message. What do yoya think? Never not gone via PayPal before....

Do they still do postal orders? Tell her to send one to you.

Messaged her to say I want to go via PayPal. I will give her a couple more days to sort out (I’m in no rush) but will then need to cancel order.

Make sure if she does pay by PayPal that you send the item either signed for or recorded delivery... she sounds right dodgy, and we've been caught out a couple of times by buyers claiming the item never arrived, then have to refund full amount...

LemonysSnicket · 26/09/2018 20:25

If she can't pay her phone bill how can she pay you?

AngryCrispLady · 26/09/2018 20:26

Good point @LemonysSnicket

That’s a good point actually...

There is absolutely no risk to you by her paying by bank transfer. In fact there is less risk than by PayPal.

19lottie82 · 26/09/2018 21:52

means that people don't have to
exchange bank account details.

It’s not risky to give people your bank details. What do you think is printed on cheques?

Thing is, PayPal’s easy enough for sort (unless your account has been suspended for suspicious activity), and even if you can’t, usually people know someone with one personally who could pay for them, DH, mother, sister etc.

The buyer is making a simple low cost transaction into a massive ballache, which IME is a sign that there will be further headaches down the line, item not received etc.

A bit like selling an old piece of furniture as collection only for a few pounds, then getting a sob story about why they can’t pick it up and need you to drop it off, then complaining that it’s not in new condition and wanting you to pick it back up again 🙄

If people can’t meet the expectations of a buyer, sell to someone else...
