Buyer now wants a refund. Case opened against me is still pending.

Anyone had similar happen and what did eBay decide?

Tell her it's been delivered and you have proof. You have all the proof you need. Upload the tracking number via the Ebay sold item. If you haven't uploaded the tracking number I suggest you do ASAP.
She's pulling a fast one.

If it's been delivered via tracking you can't loose.

Dinnaehinksae · 27/09/2018 12:04

I had this, tracking showing it had been delivered eBay closed the case in my favour. You can always contact eBay yourself about the case and get them to look at it now rather than waiting the 7 days or whatever it is.

YeOldeTrout · 27/09/2018 12:07

Did you actually upload the tracking number, ideally before they opened the case?

KatieMarieJ · 27/09/2018 12:09

She may be a scammer, but equally she might may be like us and our poor sort of neighbour. Our road has been built for 6 years now despite which the next road along still gets parcels delivered to her. The elderly lady who lives there just accepts them as right. Don't be quite so quick to blame the buyer is all I'm saying.

I had this with Zara.
It was a tracked parcel and Royal Mail text me to say it had been delivered, as did Zara.
It hadn’t been delivered and I hadn’t left the house all day.
2 days later my neighbour saunters over with it.
She had signed for it as thought it was for her and didn’t notice the incorrect address on it.

Buyer is not necessarily pulling a fast one as tracking is not infallible. I was the buyer in similar scenario where tracking said it had been delivered but I didn't have the parcel. The scanned signature wasn't anyone who would have been at my house.

I contacted the Royal Mail delivery office and after talking to the postman they realised and admitted they'd delivered to the wrong address, but they were unable to recover the parcel.

I thought the fact they'd admitted it would make it easy to claim a refund, but it wasn't that simple because I wasn't their customer. Even worse the seller wasn't a direct customer either because they were in the US.

I just had to make myself a complete pita until they agreed to compensate me directly.

Protect yourself by uploading the tracking number and then asking eBay to close the case in your favour. THEN help your buyer, contact Royal Mail to tell them what your buyer has told you.

LadyDuplo · 27/09/2018 19:10

I feel like I've done everything:
Uploaded tracking number
Rang Royal Mail myself
Communicated with her throughout

Thanks all

Royal mail are not infallible with their tracking. I bought an item online last year and they insisted it had been delivered. Tracking showed that the local depot it had left from though was 200 miles from my house so god knows who they delivered it to. RM refused to listen and seller had to resend at their expense.

MyShinyWhiteTeeth · 27/09/2018 19:17

I stopped selling on ebay because of this. In the end I used tracking with everything. Often you can see comments in the feedback that make it obvious the buyer is a scammer. We had one who said it hadn't been delivered. I sent her the tracking info showing it had been signed for several days previously. She immediately started an item not as described claim.
