Can anyone offer any quick advice?

I bought an item off ebay late last night. Item wasn't expensive but postage cost was £4.25 (Royal mail 1ST Class), which I didn't mind EXCEPT seller emailed me this afternoon saying she's off on holiday today until next friday and will post item when she returns!

I'm so peeved! Is there anything I can do?

Hoping someone can respond.
Much thanks in advance.

She should have stated this in the listing.

You'd be well within your rights to say you no longer wanted the item IMO.

Thanks, Nutty.

So, how would I go about that?

email seller

Email her and say that seeing as she didn't state in her listing that you'd have to wait such a long time, you no longer want the item and would like a refund if you have already paid.

Thanks, kitty.

The thing is I'm a new ebay user, not sure where I stand on things.

What's the best way to approach her for the best outcome?

Thanks again.

I'd email and say that this is too long, she should have stated it in the listing. It is more than the allowance ebay give her to post and so you will be filing a non perfoming seller dispute - she just might get it to the PO for you

Thanks, lost.

I've just emailed her. I just hope she hasn't already fled the country.

What a BIG bunch of arse!

Well, I've had no response from her.
What am I to do now?

Much thanks.

I bet shes already gone away.
Was it a big item?

I would email ebay and ask them about it.

SLM, could you give me a link to the policy about posting times please? I thought a seller had longer than that to post - you can't begin a NPS dispute for 10 days IIRC

sixlostmonkeys · 10/06/2007 16:04

Ive looked all over and cant actually find it in the help pages.
its mentioned all the time on the boards, so it must be somewhere
maybe its just come from the 10 day thing - they give you 7 but allow for weekends etc before you file a dispute.
