returns on used items

Can I say no returns for used items? I'm selling old computer games (early 1980's) and no longer have the fairly rare computer needed to test them on. I have been quite clear about this in the listings ( that they might not work and I don't accept returns - hence the low prices e.g. £3 each rather than £20 typical of usual listings). Is that okay to do or if the cassettes are faulty can they be returned?

I sold a few cassettes literally seconds after I listed them ( to a more professional seller who has already relisted them at x3 the price) a few weeks ago but the buyer has gone through ebay to get a return on one cassette that he says won't load. Ebay page says to refund or request return with me paying postage . I'm not well atm and so just gave a refund (buyer can keep the item which has all it's boxes, inserts etc from the time so that has some value in itself) as I paid for the original posting and so am out of pocket for that, Have suspended the other listings.

I thought I could sell like you can at a boot sale - cheap prices, but no comeback if the items are vintage and as described. If you are upfront about it.
I'm aware a buyer is taking a risk but the price reflects that as clearly stated. I'm not a professional just trying to clear out old stuff. I usually give stuff to the charity shop but as I've been ill for an extended time and am self employed every penny counts.

i was wanting to sell as a bundle but then what do you do about refunds if 1 out of 20 doesn't work and they have varying individual debatable values?

If you are a private seller, you can say 'no' to change of mind returns, but not to returns for items which are not as described, damaged, faulty etc.

It sounds as though you need to be more specific in selling these items explicitly described as faulty or not working (if you cannot confirm that they are functional) - or, accept that you will have to refund any that don't work.

As above, you can’t refuse a return on a product that is misdescribed. Make sure you list them clearly, inc in the title as spares and repairs.

Thanks - that does makes sense. Not sure what I was thinking.

Think I'll just keep the listings suspended/cancelled. I can't test the cassettes (would have to buy the computer) and no one will want definitely faulty cassettes, unless they want the covers and inserts. Might try a forum see if an enthusiast wants them for the price of postage. They are collectable and rare and part of computer history so it seems wrong to just chuck. Thanks all.
