Packaging/couriering a buggy

Am selling a buggy via eBay and would appreciate any advice on how it needs to be packaged to send via Parcelforce 48. From what I can gather it needs to be bubble wrapped and in a card box. Anyone know where best to get the card/box from? I guess it was a bit stupid to choose something complicated like a buggy as my first sale!!!
Thanks v. much!

How big is the buggy? If it's only an umbrella fold one, bubble wrap is enough - you don't need a box. Just make sure you put cardboard around the wheels and the handles and any delicate bits and then wrap with bubble wrap. Failing that, if you really need a box, go and ask at anywhere that sells bikes, eg., Toys R Us. They always have spare ones for the ones they have on display (they don't repack them, they sell them as seen).
BTW - are you paying the full price for Parcelforce 48 as there are other couriers who are far cheaper and do a 24 hr delivery?

Thanks, that's v. helpful! It's actually an Aria double buggy unfortunately! Folds down into a square shape. I might have a look at some other couriers. I guess ?Payerperdrop? is quite popular

When i sold my Aria, i bubble wrapped and card-boarded the wheels and then black bagged it.

Arrived with new owner through pay per drop (5.99!) with not a mark on it and she was really pleased.

i sold my buggy on ebay and got a box to wrap it in from mothercare . postage/parcelforce iirc was around £15 but i had sold it for avery good price (same as new!) so was really keen that it arrived in pristine nick.

I did the same as Jinxed and also used Payperdrop-no probs at all.

Well I used Parcelforce 48 in the end and it has not been good! Didn't get picked up by the courier today as booked and spent a lot of time on their 0870 numbers trying to find out why and getting messages saying 'your call cannot be taken...'. Should have taken the advice to use Payperdrop shouldn't I?

Well, we all have bad experiences with things, just mark this down to good old Royal Mail (again)!

Ps. next time use Payperdrop!

For furture reference - try www.saynoto0870.co.uk to find alternatives to many premium rate numbers.

I find Parcel2Go very good too. Haven't tried Payperdrop though. Is it right that if no-one is home at first delivery attempt, you have to pay extra for subsequent delivery?
