Help - what to do? The bidding has gone too HIGH on my item for sale!

I listed an 'Outdoor Toy' (don't want to say what in case anyone is bidding on it!) which we've had for a couple of years, having bought it locally for £15.

It's been well-loved, and so I was pretty honest in the description (e.g. it's got scuffs and this is missing etc....). However DH thinks the photo I took was 'forgiving' (although not misleading in any way...

Anyway we thought we might get a tenner for it, but it's now been bid up to £40 with still over a day to go, and loads of watchers.

DH thinks when the winner comes round to collect it we should let them have it for a lower amount - what do you think?

Thing is, you can buy a similar new one for £39.99!!

Do not worry. E-bay is swings and roundabouts. Sometimes I sell things and am totally gutted that they go for so little. And other times, for no apparent reason something goes mad and sells for alot.
I once sold a wedding photo album, and I knew it was Debenhams, for £19.99. It sold for £80 The woman was delighted.
Don't panic. Just enjoy. and if when they come to collect, they quibble, you could knock £5 or £10 off, only if you choose to.

This is GREAT. Stop worrying

On the IKEA items, I would pay a huge premium to avoid having to actually go to IKEA (while it's fine in the week, I can normally only make it at weekends, and that reduces me to a quivering wreck). Mind you, they are supposedly rolling out online ordering this year.

It is odd what things sell for sometimes on eBay. Sometimes people just don't think...

Congratulations. If you want to sell at a price which won't trouble your conscience, you could include a "Buy it now" price but I tend to agree that sometimes the prices people will pay for stuff is surprising, other times it's disappointing.

Congratulations

any chance you'll indulge my nosiness and tell us what it was?

I'm sure the people selling their anya hindmarch bags for £100 that they bought for a fiver aren't feeling guilty, so don't worry about it!
