Faulty Large Collected Item

About 5 weeks ago we purchased two wardrobes on eBay that were already dismantled. This weekend we tried to assemble them to discover there are fundamental parts missing which mean the wardrobes can't be assembled. The description said all that was needed to re-assemble them was some tacks for the backing panel but also listed out what pieces we would receive and conveniently excluded the missing pieces so it's not particularly clear cut as to whether they are not as described. We collected them from about 10 miles away but paid via Paypal. I've tried unsuccessfully to message the seller to see if they have the missing parts but have received no response. Do you think it's worth raising a case and if so would be entitled to request the seller comes and picks them up? I don't really fancy a 20 mile round trip to return a faulty item that was bought in good faith. Thanks

Yes I'd open a case. Do you know if the parts are replaceable? If so, am alternative would be to request a partial refund to cover the cost of getting new parts.

That way you could keep them which might be easier?

I think they would just refund you, which doesn’t help with getting rid of the useless ones Angry

Thanks. The parts aren't replacable. DH could probably hack something together to enable the backing panel to be tacked on but we're also missing trims across the front Angry

did you purchase through eBay?
If so then open a case through them, not PayPal. That way it’s the sellers job to organise the collection of the item, not yours.

PS if they don’t (chances are, they won’t) then eBay will force a refund, if they don’t offer one voluntarily.
