I have given my dd1 somemoney to buy stuff on Ebay with as a reward for doing really well at school. She really wanted a pair of size jeans and they are few and far between!! Whilst searcing for some I found somewith a buy it now price of 99p!! They were brand new and every other pair the seller was listing had a starting price of 00p or a buy it now of £18.00.

To be honest I| did think it might have een a mistake, but then did consider that maybe the size6's were not as popular as the bigger sizes and therefore they were selling them cheaper..
Anyway they have email saying that they mde a misatke and that they will not sell at that price and they can void the sale and inform ebay of their mistake....

Is this right?

Not sure on the rules, but at the end of the day, if they dont want to post something, they wont. Depends how important their reputation is to them I guess.

Sorry mean't to say a starting price of 99p not 00p!!! Also they were size 6 jeans...
The seller's mistake was to put 99p as BIN price, not starting price.
If you contact ebay how long will they take to reply?

The rules are here. The seller has entered into a contract with you/dd and has to honour it. It's their problem if they made a mistake with the price, not yours. HTH

If you contact ebay you get nothing but a standard auto reply

Although they have entered a contract to sell, at the end of the day no one can force a seller to part with the goods if they don't want to.

All you can do is file a dispute for non performing seller.

Yeah..she has emailed me offering to sell them at half price, but to be honest my daughter was just thrilled with the bargain and thisn has left us feeling upset. I guess we'll just allow her not to send them...if i leave them negative they'll only do the same to me so it's all a bit pointless really isn't it?
