Bad feeling about potential buyer. WWYD?

I have a piece of jewellery listed on eBay. Not hugely expensive, it's listed for around £100, I paid £150 a few months ago.
A buyer messaged me last week to tell me they would be buying it on Tuesday (tomorrow) which I thought was kind of odd. They then messaged asking if I had any paperwork, I told them I didn't.
They've messaged again to ask if I can clean it and to tell me again they'll be buying it tomorrow.
I just get a strange feeling that they're a bit dodgy and will end up trying to cause me problems with eBay if they do buy it.
I'm not desperate for the money so I'm tempted to cancel the listing before anyone bids but I could also be overreacting.
I've not used eBay to sell for a while after a bad experience with a buyer. I disputed what they were saying and nothing came of it but it has definitely left me more cautious and less trusting.
WWYD? Does it all sound like normal buyer behaviour to you? Am I the one who is being weird? Grin

Cancelling the listing seems a bit dramatic but If you have a bad feeling about a buyer then you are perfectly within your rights to block them from bidding on \ buying your items.

I think I might just have eBay paranoia.
I'll look at blocking them, thanks.

I always block potential buyers like this.

SavoyCabbage · 21/11/2017 09:50

So do I. Too much fussing before they have even bought it. Imagine the carry on afterwards.

FergalBurgal · 21/11/2017 12:33

I forgot to block him yesterday and he bought and paid first thing this morning.

I'm convinced this isn't going to be straight forward. I'm kind of viewing it as a game now, not much else I can do.

I've got dated photos, all of the messages between us, double checked the address, have sent it so it has to be signed for, added tracking info...and now I wait. Grin

DH had a much nicer theory about the purchase and the buyer has actually just said something very similar. I remain cynical. I think it's all part of his script to make him seem genuine. So we now me and DH have a £5 bet on the outcome.

I'm not sure whether I should leave the money in PayPal or not.

I'm also tempted to tell the buyer I can now buy my children christmas presents thanks to them Grin but that might be taking it too far.

My first thought was that the person was waiting for pay day.

FergalBurgal · 22/11/2017 07:09

That may be the case. I also find it odd that they paid the full price and didn't make an offer. There's really no pleasing me.

They should get it today and I'm fully expecting a message with some kind of 'issue'. I'd love to be wrong though.

Hmmm. He might just be a really nice, friendly guy.
He's let me know he has the item and he's pleased with it...and I'm still reluctant to take the money out of PayPal and believe that that's that Confused
