I sold a photo printer on ebay, and I said I never opened the box so had no idea what was inside. I offered to open it for anyone who wanted to buy it (didn't want to wreck box if someone didn't want me to open it) and the person who bought it didnt want that. He was late paying, only paid when I opened a dispute, and now he wants his money back as the printer has no cartridge and no paper and other assesories. I never said it did, even stated I had no idea what the printer had with it in the advert - can he still get his money back? To be honest even if he could I do not have it and no way of getting it. He has opened a dispute, droning on about his wife being a lawyer but surely if I clearly said I didn't know what was in the box he might aswell be asking for a jacuzzi to have been in there.

No I dont think he can.
If you stated on the listing that you didnt know then he hasnt really got any comeback.

Have you kept any correspondance from him?

Quootiepie · 14/04/2007 07:26

kept everything, he is very rude

Just stick to your guns and wait to hear from ebay.
Keep all the emails so if needed, you can forward them on to ebay too.

I really dont see what he expects.

I too don't reckon he will win the case.

Good advice from Nbq.

Stay calm and factual in your correspondence.

Did he get a bargain? Or did he pay full whack because he either didn't read the listing properly or decided to take a gamble?

If you stated very clearly indeed that you didn't know what you were selling thenI would think you ere OK - do you want to give us a clue to find the listing so that we can see whether it was capable of misunderstanding?

I don't think it's ever a good idea to sell anything you haven't inspected, though!

I wish I had opened it now, was just trying to keep in all intact for whoever bought it! I guess he got a bargain, it was a 99p no reserve auction so he paid what he bid if you see what I mean. Dunno how much they are in shops, I know I paid 3 times as much for one 5 months ago.
