what exactly mean grease stains? what was the starting price? have you got auction number?
i tend to buy new things, as i had that many disappointments with excellent clothes, even though new without things seem used at times, so it very hard to judge, i just cant bear all hassle and row over the email ends up with negative feedback.

Yes, if you are not happy the first thing is always to contact the seller. I would ask for a refund, although don't expect them to pay for your postage charges if you send the item back. If you do send it back, then I would recommend sending it recorded - it's worth the extra 68p to have proof that it arrived.

Yes, absolutely try and seek a refund from the seller. If after several E-Mails and the seller doesn't respond then report to Ebay under item not as described. Ebay are really helpful.

Good Luck and hope your little boy's op goes OK.

Emailing the seller is the right thing to do, yes.

You could ask her for a full refund (you need to return the item) or you could ask for a partial refund, if you think you could clean the shirt to an acceptable standard.
You are entitled to either of these options under the 'item not as described' clause.
If the seller fails to respond to your satisfaction you can file an Item Not as described with eBay and Paypal. I believe paypal require you to return the item (and you must get proof of postage for this as paypal require a tracking number) paypal should find in your favour and your money will be returned.

let us know how the seller responds.

Hope your little boy is well

I had this with some clothes i bought on ebay, advertised as in excellent condition!!!

For the rag bag maybe, but certainly not to wear.

Sellers weren't interested when i complained and they left negative feedback for me because i complained!!!

Ended up losing £60!!!!

Hope you have much better luck than i did, and i hope your little boy is ok.

sixlostmonkeys · 22/03/2007 12:36

yes, use contact seller option. There should be a drop down option.
Be polite to start off with and I'd say something like - I am rather upset to note that the shirt isn't as described in the listing, ie excellent condition. Due to 6 grease stains this shirt can not possibly be worn. I'm sure this was an oversight on your part but would you kindly offer me a full refund?

see what her reply is, and if she asks for it to be returned tell her you are more than happy to do so. Remember to send it recorded.

Don't wait too long for her to act. Sometimes filing an Item not as described prompts people into action.

I have had similar but was so desperate to keep the item (couldnt find a replacement in time that I suggested that I would clean the garment if they refunded the postage (£3.00) Might not work if your postage was a tiny amount though.

marymay · 22/03/2007 13:34

just had a nice email back from the seller apologizing .he offered me a full refund or £7 pound off the price.nice to know their is some decent people about.
thanks again
