Purchaser is lying. Photos confirm this. Do I HAVE to refund?

Buyer saying clothes not as good as advertised. Pictures (lots of them - clothes ironed, folded, open to be seen clealry, the fronts and the reverse sides - including care labels) listed as well as acute detail.

Do I HAVE to accept she is making me out to be a liar?

Ebay will probably make you if she opens a case. Your best bet would be to tell her she can return them at her own cost (she will have to use tracked mail) and when you have received them back and confirmed they are in the same state you sent them, you will refund her.

She may decide it's not worth the hassle (lots of people like this just want you to offer ££ off and let them keep the clothes-chancers basically!)

I agree with the other poster, tell her to return at her own cost, if she does then refund, if she doesn't don't. She's trying her luck.. obviously.

Thankyou for replying. I have never refunded before, in 1,000 transactions Hmm Ebay just a minute ago told me that I have to get the buyer to issue a returns request, so I have asked her to do that. I've also requested twice now that she sends photos of the apparent "wear" but that has been ignored.

Was this the right advice from ebay?? I always hear stories as to how their advice is wrong....

If the buyer has opens an official return request because they claim the item is not as described then the OP can't tell them to return it at their own cost.

Unfortunately OP all you can do is accept the return (paying the return postage) or tell them to keep it and refund them if it's not worth your while paying £2.99 to get it back.

In all fairness OP if this is the first time you've had a return in 1000 transactions you're doing bloody well!

Haha! My ego is dented Wink
And I hate liars Angry

So all in all, it's a bad combination!

Thankyou for the advice....she was quick enough to moan but funnily enough I've not heard from her since.....

I'd ask her to send photos of what she thinks the problem is. This won't make a difference in the grand scheme of things but it may put her off proceeding with a not as described case.

Morecaffeineplease · 02/06/2017 13:33

She is refusing to send them via ebay. She is saying she can through whatsapp or directly to my email address.

Spidey senses on high alert.

All communication/messages have to be sent through eBay. This is for safety and so that eBay can see what's going on. Don't give her your whatssap or email. You can't give your email adresss via message anyway as eBay don't allow it. It's easy to send photos via eBay, you just attach them as a link.
So something funny is going on there.

BlahBlahBlahEtc · 02/06/2017 15:37

Yeah she's definitely trying it on. Just tell her tough, she bought them on ebay so all correspondence is through ebay. If she has a problem with that then she can complain to Ebay lol

19lottie82 · 02/06/2017 15:40

Just send her 1 message on eBay saying please keep all communication via eBay and don't reply to any emails / WhatsApp messages.
