So what do you do if something you've bought doesn't turn up???

I'm fairly new to e-bay and bought/won a pair of shoes - very pleased 'cos I'm a bugger of a size and they look lovely.

The auction ended on Saturday and I paid by paypal straight away. They hadn't pitched up by Tuesday so I e-mailed the seller (I was really excited and keen to get them!) and she said she'd posted them first class the day before - Monday - and they've still not arrived...

So what do I do if they don't turn up??

Well - she could have posted them second class - so they would take about 5 days probably.

If they still haven't turned up though you should ask her to supply you with her proof of posting and then you have to speak to the Post Office about it.

I once had a parcel go missing (that I'd bought) and it turned up two weeks later - packaging had split and it had taken PO that long to put it in a plastic bag and deliver it !

I've also had one parcel I sent never arrive and I gave a refund - some people say on their listings that they don't accept responsility for lost parcels though !

It might still turn up - possibly she didn't post on Monday but didn't want to admit it too !

I had this problem ,I ordered a bra and after a few weeks I emailed ,yeh I was very patient.I was tol it had been posted and that a new one would be sent out, after another week and nothing I emailed to say "I was getting irritated now".LO and behold a bra turned up the next day!
Will not be using them again.
I would give them a few more days as it could be stuck in the post.
Ask for a refund if they don't turn up.

I agree, she probably fibbed about posting it on Monday.
You could contact your local sorting office and ask if they have a parcel for you. The postie is meant to leave a card but I've had a few occasions where he doesn't.
If after a few days it hasn't appeared contact the seller and ask her to track it for you. It is the seller's responsibility (even if they say it isn't) to ensure an item reaches you.
The post office don't consider an item to be lost until after 15 days.
If it has got lost the seller has to refund you and then she makes a claim with Royal Mail. Don't let her make you wait until she claims - she has to refund you first.

Fingers crossed it turns up soon [smile}

I'm probably being a bit too impatient aren't I?! Have e-mailed her this afternoon but will wait another week or so now.

This has happened to me a few times - and always... ALWAYS when it's something DS has bought.
He expects them to post immediately (I suppose cos he sees that I always do) and to him an extra day is a week!
I feel like screaming at the sellers "Just post it NOW! My son is waiting by the letter-box!"
