please tell me what's going on???

the same bidder seems to be placing the same bid price on my item on different days?

probably just putting in a higher bid as they might not be around when the auction ends.
It won't increase until another bidder puts in a higher amount - ie: the bid won't go up if they bid higher but are already the highest bidder, but it will when/if someone else bids.

There, clear as mud!

oh I see so they can put in bids higher but it still shows the value as their last bid??

but they have put bids on 3 or 4 different dates? can't you just put ina maximum bid? I think I understand what you are sayong but it just doesn't makes sense to me, if that makes sense lol

I know, it seems strange, but perhaps they are so desperate to win your item that they can't help themselves. LOL!

MerlinsBeard · 10/03/2007 16:44

if i bid a max of £20 on ur item but the last bid that had been placed was £11 then my bid would only show as £12, everytime someone bid UNDER my max it would then show as me bidding again but with a higher amount despite me not physically rebidding if that makes it any clearer (altho i doubt it!)

MascaraOHara · 10/03/2007 18:15

lol, HC is it you??

I've seen autobids but normally they increment.

anyway it finishes in a few hours so I'm just pleased they're selling.

The bidder is just increasing their maximum bid every time - they must be keen and/or nervous

Saturn74 · 11/03/2007 11:47

Did it sell for millions?

MascaraOHara · 11/03/2007 20:09

nope, bit fed up actually.

Was talking to a friend on the phone and explained how weird I thought it was... she then said she wouldn't mind the shoes. obv. I couldn't take them down as I had bids on them.. she said she'd try and bid (up to £5) she got to £3.20 and it would let her bid any higher.. so they went for £3.20 on eBay when I could've sold them to her for a fiver. Don't understand how that works, I think it's a bit weird.

ho-hum, you win some you lose some I suppose. She's coming round in a couple of days to go through dd's old clothes before I list anything else lol

That's odd - not letting her bid any higher.
Oh well, hopefully she'll buy lots of your other things directly and you'll save on eBay fees!
