So can you buy used nappies on ebay or not?

Am confused - have some of ds nappies to sell and have always managed to get rid of them on ebay before now but apparently they won't sell used nappies anymore?
People have had their listings removed but when I went to look at Fuzzi Bunz there were plenty in 'used but as new condition'.
Is it worth me listing mine or will they be banned??

From what i can make out brands like Fuzzi Bunz are being reported by competitors - some want the market to themselves.
This isn't my area but i'm wondering if leaving the brand name out of the title might help to keep the listing there.

I also think you need to really make it clear they are for babies - i know this sounds daft but i think a few have been pulled even they put 18-24 months for eg. It's the adult used underwear that is the issue - i believe this has come from .com who started the ban.

be careful using the term 'as new' Strictly speaking 'as new' only applies to something that is almost identical and in same condition as an item in the shops. Used but as new is a condradiction and could land a seller in trouble.

I'd give it a go. Think carefully of the words to use in the title without using brand name (you could use the brand name in your description as the market hoggers may not trawl that far). Excellent quality, bright white nappies or something?? - it's been a long time since I've dealth with nappies and I've blocked all sleep deprived nappy changes from my mind but I'd go for the words that would appeal to you if you were searching to buy.

Good luck

it is only in america at the moment that have banned them because they are classing them as used underwear which is on their banned list. sign this petition for it here

oh no, i lie, just had a listing cancelled on ebay uk. fuzzi bunz has never allowed their nappies to be sold on ebay because it is against their trading regulations or something. at the moment it is only american nappies like fuzzi bunz and little lambs i think though that they are cancelling.

i sold mine on there, + swim nappy, trainer pants etc. that was about 6 months ago (or was it a year, time is just a blur now...)

I queried with eBay UK recently and was told specifically that no used nappies were now allowed to be sold (new nappies OK, but as most sellers of new nappies on eBay are charging more than you can buy them for from regular online stockists that's not terribly helpful).

If you can find a phrase that means "used" but doesn't say "used" then you might get away with it, but going elsewhere seems the easier option.

Today I had a listing removed for a really snazzy pair of swim shorts (used) and four brand new huggies swim nappies, if I relist the item my ebay account will be suspended, and they are quoting a list at me of items not allowed to be sold, 'including but not limited to' undies etc and cloth nappies very clearly stated on it. Not swimsuits though so maybe the new nappies being included with a used swim suit made a difference? I save up for our (very cheap) hols selling our old stuff on ebay so I dont' want to end up having my account suspended so can't relist it under other despcriptions etc.
So the answer is NO you can't sell used cloth nappies on ebay and why risk having your account closed trying to be clever? Get them on the nappy lady website, no selling fees and you just ask the price you want, no waiting, no auctions. Anyone want a really nice pair of hawaiian print baggy swim shorts 6-9m and 4 huggies little swimmers then? Going cheap??

Same her fibbertygibbet,I don't want to risk being suspended. But I did reply to a customer service survey they sent to me after I contacted them, & I made my point very clearly that it was both commercially uinwise & environmentally unfriendly to ban used nappies/swim nappies.

IdrisTheDragon · 15/03/2007 23:54

I read about someone putting that the nappies had been washed many times to increase their absorbancy (about used nappies, but without using the word).

You can buy and sell them on www.thenappylady.co.uk, with no charges.

nappylady classifieds have had a lot more ads recently .
