Question about cancelling a transaction because buyer didn't turn up

I sold something a week ago on ebay, cash on collection. Twice the buyer didn't turn up, without telling me.

On Friday night i raised a case with ebay- i thought this meant they would do something about her but they haven't emailed me so i am assuming they haven't done anything.

Tonight i wanted to relist it, so i cancelled the sale 'due to a problem with the buyers address' as there were only two choices (the other one being that i couldn't fulfil it).

Now ebay have said the buyer has ten days to confirm. WTF????? What happens now. Do i have to wait ten days to rellist? thanks

I had this scenario 3 weeks ago with a freezer, cash on collection and the buyer ignored all my messages re collecting. Very frustrating, I too cancelled sale like you as there is no other option, I then could relist it. Look in summary and options on right next to item. Annoyingly you can't leave bad feedback as it is cancelled.

Theoretically, yes. But if you're confident that the buyer won't reject the cancellation, then re list (making sure you add said buyer to your blocked bidders list).

Worst case scenario, the original buyer so I'll wants to buy it, you say no and get a strike from eBay and possible negative feedback from buyer.

If you decide to resist before cancellation is confirmed, I'd give them 24 hours to respond, IME if they're going to, then they will do pretty much straight away.

PS the correct path to have gone down in the first place would have been an unpaid item case rather than a cancellation request, but this will take 4 days before you can close it and reclaim your seller fees.
