What now? My auction was won by someone who hasn't paid.

What do I do next? I use an iPad and can't see what option I should select. I've tried contact buyer and I've sent a reminder invoice but to no avail.
The item was for over £100 so I'm worried I'll be charged by eBay as it looks like the auction went through and got completed.
I really want to get rid of the item as it's quite large, but it's just sitting in front of the TV and i wang it sorted waaahhh
Can anyone suggest what to do next? Thanks

When did the auction actually finish?

Loveleopardprint · 29/09/2015 19:58

How long ago did the auction finish?
Have you contacted the buyer and asked them for payment?
If it has been about five days with no contact I would give the buyer 24 hours to pay and then I would open a case against them.
If u go into help/support then eBay will guide you through the process. Good luck!

If over 3 days you can open an unpaid item dispute, eBay will remove the final value fees from your monthly bill, and you can resist.

Just2MoreSeasons · 29/09/2015 19:59

21st Sept, so 8 days ago.
I think it says on all of my listings that payment and posting out should be within 3 days.

Thanks for the replies all.
I've just noticed there's now a linky that says to resist.
Can I just press that or do I have to open a case first? Or even realist and open a case at the same time?

when did the listing finish?

yeOldeTrout · 29/09/2015 20:02

sorry, post, you MUST close the old case before relisting. Or you could end up with 2 sales to fulfill and only one item.

Loveleopardprint · 29/09/2015 20:02

I would open a case first just to cover yourself. Also contact the buyer and say that unfortunately due to lack of payment you are opening a case. eBay do expect you to try to sort out problems first.

yeOldeTrout · 29/09/2015 20:03

Also must open a case to get fees back, that's £100, no?!

Just2MoreSeasons · 29/09/2015 20:05

Thanks so much, love mumsnet Grin
Will open a case and advise winner (I've made contact 3 times since auction ended and she hasn't replied once). Slightly worried as its a new baby item and keep wondering if she's gone into hospital. I guess it will affect her rating...

Sorry Triut, don't understand, the item was £102 at the winning bid. But yes, I don't want to pay fees on it, whilst I don't actually have the money!

trout not triot. iPad even wanted to change that to 'throat' sigh

Can you log on at a pc or laptop? There's usually a second chance option whereby the second highest bidder gets the opportunity to buy it at their highest bid.

19lottie82 · 29/09/2015 20:11

As advised, open a case. You've given the winning bidder chances to pay / correspond, but they have chosen not to respond. After 2 or 3 days you can escalate the case to claim back the final value fees. And as discussed, do not resist until the original non payment case is closed.

yeOldeTrout · 29/09/2015 20:14

Sorry, thought I read £1000 sale in OP. I'm on a bad roll for not reading threads properly 2nite.

Just2MoreSeasons · 29/09/2015 20:15

Thanks so much everyone. I've just opened a case and will now wait until the case closes before relisting
I did wonder about the second chance thing liberated but really can't be arsed dragged out the dusty laptop with its forgotten password problems... Can't see how to do it on the app.

Can you just open the webpage instead of looking at the app?
