Im a long term ebayer so not new but I am stumped on this situation. The seller is quite new

I recently won two items on auction, before they ended i asked the seller if they would combine postage and heard nothing. When I won i again requested a combined postage invoice. I will always combine postage unless the items don't fit in one parcel so thought this wouldn't be a problem.

After three days I heard nothing so I just paid the invoice assuming the seller was ignoring me and then she sent me an email stating she didn't know how to combine postage ot change the invoice. I replied saying i had already paid but that if she wanted to she could refund me the excess postage via paypal. Again I heard nothing,

I have just received the items and she has stuffed both into a too small second hand jiffy bag and sent it second class post. So I have paid nearly £7 for a £2.80 stamp. If it were me I would have bought the right size bag, and paid for first class if I had £7 of someone else's money for postage at the very least! But then if it were me I'd have also refunded or put the excess cash into the Jiffy bag if I couldn't do it online

So what feedback do I leave. I want to leave a negative stating the seller was unhelpful and refused to combine postage charging me £7 for a £2.80 stamp and a creased ripped Jiffy bag. But am I being nasty to the newbie. What shall I give/say.

I would contact them before leaving feedback and ask again about a refund via PayPal.

Seller sounds so clueless.
You can ask again, and it's the right thing to do (give seller a chance to fix the problem), but I don't think you'll get any joy for it.

I would message first and if she doesn't refund I would neg and leave low stars. It is v easy for her to refund the difference.

Yes I agree, message them "would it be possible for you to refund me some of the postage as I paid £7 for the £2.80 P&P. It would be great to sort out this problem I have with the transaction. You should be able to do this easily via paypal and I can advise you of how to do this if you are not sure, kind regards etc

Hope it gets sorted otherwise I would say it is not very satisfactory and seller would deserve low stars for postage and comms. Saying that I do think the invoicing on ebay can be a bit of a pain when trying to adjust anything - I have had a few difficulties with this on occasion so I would definitely persevere with helping the seller at first if they are willing to communicate.

Noooooooooo, BAD idea! Ebay view this as feedback extortion. Chances are any negative feedback will be removed and you would get a defect.

Go with Robin64s suggestion and if the seller doesn't play ball then leave appropriate feedback.

twistletonsmythe · 02/06/2015 16:20

it isn't feedback extortion unless you say refund me or I will neg. Nowhere did I suggest that...........

Allbymyselfagain · 02/06/2015 16:35

Thanks. I have emailed the seller although given how long it took me to respond to my first two polite emails I doubt I will hear anything back. At least I give her one more chance.
